There's definitely something different about yours, Dex.

I think it may be that the pivot and cylinder pins are closer together than they should be.

I noticed that the end of the cylinder almost binds with it fully curled, as well as the rod touching fully dumped. Lee's has separation at both extremes.

It may not be the right quick attach plate for your loader, although the width would have to be right.

Just add some more material to the mechanical stops.

You are correct JJ I tried it with 1/8" thick washer in as a shim and if I repair it that is what I will do.

I thought the quick attach plate may have been for a different loader but that is still up in the air.

Thanks for all of the input. The different opinions help with the decisions. I hope Kubota steps up here and helps out with the cost.

I think an update is in order. I talked with Gary at Barlow tractor about the issue and he talked with the Kubota Rep. It seems that the SSQA that is on my tractor was an add on and the SSQA on my buddy's tractor was installed from the factory. So they are a bit different. That said I have been working with Gary(Barlows parts guy) and the Kubota Rep to see if Kubota will replace the cylinder. I agreed to install shims. I have not heard back from the Kubota Rep but Gary sent me a new cylinder. I installed the shims and the new cylinder and I am back in business. Please excuse the tractor cleanliness as I am in the middle of of a clean up job when this all took place. I have confidence that Kubota will step up and do their part in this issue. Gary has been great to work with and I still believe that Barlow tractor is a great dealer. Thanks for all the advice and input guys. There is no better place to get good tractor advice than the crown on TBN.

If no one has mentioned already, its common to toss the cylinder into a press and straighten the shaft as a cheapy repair.

I looked at that but my gland was broke and the cylinder was egg shaped at the threaded end. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I recently straightened a bent cylinder rod (not from the tractor) and it turned out OK, but it wasn't nearly as bad as Dex's and the gland was in good shape.

Glad you got it fixed up, I've been dealing with a warranty issue lately myself, and Kubota in general and my dealer in particular have been very good to deal with.

If you can find two aftermarket cylinders that work for you, I'd suggest putting the remaining good cylinder on E-bay and selling it to pay for the replacements.

Sean

Replace both to keep stresses equal on FEL and hydraulic system. Keep the remaining good cylinder as a TEMPORARY backup for future events, which WILL happen. You'll need that spare for very light work(only) until your future replacements arrive.

I think after a couple of years he's figured it out.

Has it been that long? Sorry for not coming back with the resolution. Barlow Tracor and Kubota took care of the issue by sending me another cylinder with the agreement that I would add shims to prevent the cylinder from hitting. This was resolved well over 2 years ago without any further issues. Sorry for the long delay on the feed back.
