What a horror story!!!

It makes me realize I did the right thing buying new and knowing I will get 6 years of dealer support. I am done wrenching on stuff and my knowledge of diesels would leave room in a shot glass. I cringe when folks here tell new owners to buy used and fix what may go wrong. If you know what you are doing, you might save a few thousand. If you have the experience level of the dealer involved here....well...good luck.

I feel for the OP. It sounds like the dealer is incompetent or a crook or both. I would reach out to Kubota and see if they can help even it is out of warranty. $10k spent with no resolution is unacceptable. Send them a link to this thread.

Before hauling my tractor 260 miles through the Alaska Range, with the highest mountain in North America, in winter, I tried to diagnose the problem myself. I suspect that most of you would do the same. When I initially contacted the dealership about my problem, they suggested that I check a few things before hauling it in to their shop. I know how to use a multi-meter and an allen wrench which was all the tools it took to perform the tests that they suggested. At that point the dealership said bring it in. The dealership performed more extensive testing on the tractor, replaced some parts, performed some labor and thus the expense.

So is the tractor fixed now?

What a situation..... hopefully you致e got some warranty to help with this bill.....
For those that may know, when/if the injector pump fails, could it send shrapnel throughout the fuel system? This is a thing in the VW common rail world..... many new parts needed from a HPFP failure. So much of an issue there was an aftermarket fuel filter kit to help catch the debris if it failed to lessen the repair bill.

OP reported the tractor to be "a little over 6 years old" in post #1. Any relief he may get from this train wreck will come from the dealer or from Kubota in the form of a goodwill warranty claim approved by the area FSM. If that person is not in the loop now he or she should be contacted tomorrow.

My Kubota operators manual gives a slightly different engine number - the final group of letters. Kubota says V2403-CR-TE4.

My Operator Manual gives a slightly different engine number. V2493-CR-TE4. Difference is the TE4 is the tractor engine rated top speed 2600 rpm.
