You can not do this with the bucket raised. It must be setting on the ground. If you loosen the hose with the bucket raised it will fall very fast and could seriously injure you.

When everything is on the ground, and you then disconnect the hoses, the cylinders will move in and out easily and you can then remove the pins.

Hello, If I undo one of the two hoses to the bucket RAM hydraulic cylinder , with the bucket raised, can I remove only the inside part to the cylinder? How do I bled the lines after I have replaced all the packing kit rings. Raise and lower the bucket and then loosen each of the two connections? I will hear the air going out and then a flow of hydraulic fluid, then tighten quickly? I would like to get the tray you have in the photo. Did you get it from a dealer for this kind of repair? I have a Rubbermaid, black cement pan that is new that I could use, as you say this is a messy repair. I want to have my packing kit laid out like you have in your photo so I replace one ring and match it to the new one. Would it be easier to have the bucket up and remove only the inside rod? It would save bleeding the line to the other part to the cylinder? If I try to do this can I pull out the rod with the other part still connected? What is OTT? Is that another Internet help web site?

Thanks for the photos as I am getting everything in order in my head.

As for having your bucket up in the air, once you release the lines on 1cylinder, you have removed 1/2 of the hydraulic support present. You have just created a very dangerous situation of the bucket dropping with greatly reduced resistance. Do not do this without multiple forms of support holding the bucket! Or just DON’T do it!
Since it seems this is your 1st repack you will do, matching up pieces us a very good ideal. Lay out your parts as removed in order of removal, you will want to clean everything throughly while disassembled. Then match new to old as you reassemble after clean and dry. Lube with a light coat of hydraulic fluid as you reassemble.
As for bleeding air out of the system once reinstalled, it should be self bleeding, just raise and lower until it functions smoothly.
Be sure to top off your hydraulic fluid once reassemble and bleeding are complete, you have lost the fluid in the cylinder(s) rebuild as well as whatever dripped out of disconnected hoses.
Side note on your hoses, attempt to place them with the disconnected fitting pointing up to reduce the mess from dripping. Also be sure to cover these fittings to prevent debris from entering the hydraulic system.
Good luck, just take your time and match up parts!

Actually most loaders have the cylinders tied together with a T. Remove one hose there is no support. The loader doesn't need to be raised to remove a cylinder.
