Comparison Kubota M7040 SUD vs Agroplus 87

a different way to look at it! What is the resale price of the duetz three years old? The kubota one year old? That should help to justify

The AgroPlus 87 compares more closely to the Kubota M8540 but it doesn't have hydraulic shuttle which is a negative. This Agroplus 87 has some fading since it was on the dealer lot for a few years but still new. As far as resell value the Kubota beats the Deutz-Fahr models hands down. Not an easy decision but in the end I am tempting to go with the larger AgroPlus over the M7040 SUD when you consider overall strength, weight, size, etc... From everything I have read the Deutz-Fahr is a major tractor in Europe and the dealer nearby is good as well. If I could not get any service then it would an easy call.

That sure sounds like a tough decision. The added size weight and power on the Duetz sure will be nice.

All things considered, you will get more tractor with the Agroplus and I sure wouldn't worry about the paint.

I like my Kubota but I'd be taking the Deutz home. They have excellent resale value up here in Canada.

yup have to agree that the deutz has it over the 7040 ( resale/ dealer your call)... i'm am equip freak and the deutz for me would come up top dog.

At the end of the day the bigger tractor just has more advantages over the Kubota. It was indeed a tough decision for me but today I pulled the trigger on the AgroPlus 87 and will pick it up next week.

The resale value on tractors doesn't enter the equation, unless you bought the wrong tractor! They are tools, designed for a job- like, say an over the road tractor, hauling freight. Many of those travel a 100,000 miles a year, and with proper maintenance can do that "forever".

Resale counts. The above is a whole lot of hot air. I bought the right tractor. It has done its job well. I am being promoted and moved to a new location. I'm getting out of horses. Don't need a tractor anymore. Life changes for all kinds of reasons and the need for a tractor might change when it does. Being able to get some ROI means a lot. People get sick/old and can't farm. People loose their jobs (very true today) and have to sell.


Bottom line is I would much rather have a Kubota sitting in my yard for sale than a Agroplus.
