Very poor design if you can't trust a parking brake.

There isn’t a parking brake. Placing the transmission in park is the process used on this model.

Doesn't really matter, it's a mechanism to keep the tractor stationary and must work 100% all the time if it's maintain properly. I can't see why such a solution is better than using the brakes, only thing must be that it will work when the brakes are worn out.

There's a very long and tragic history of vehicles jumping out of Park. NTSB initiated a few recalls for them over the years but they only apply to vehicles designed for on road use. There really is no reason for a large tractor not to have a backup parking system. Even my two small lawn tractors have them.

Tractors should also have front brakes, they only needs to use the 4WD to have that, rear brakes are like no brakes going down hill.

I’m not debating the point, just correcting for the benefit of others reading the post. If it were up to me, my M7060 would have both a park feature and a parking brake. Why they didn’t design it that way will have to be addressed with Kubota.

How about ask the dealer to take it back? I think stating you cannot own a tractor that you can't trust with your life is a valid concern.

That is probably the best way to get the attention of Kubota.

Put your request for return to the dealer in writing, and send a copy to Kubota corporate, as well as (per post #48) the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Any update, inode, from talking to the dealer?

There is NO provision for a parking brake on an M7060. No way to lock the brakes on. All you have is the Park position in the transmission.

That's not a new thing. I have an ancient John Deere 2020 Diesel that's the same way. No provision for applying the brake and locking it there. Only a Park slot in the transmission.

Both the John Deere and Kubota work exactly as designed and I've had no problems with either one. OP's tractor must have something out of adjustment.

Sounds like a design flaw to me. There should be a locking parking brake on all tractors.

The position between forward and reverse on my Toolcat is the Park position. In Park, all brakes are automatically set. If you raise the armrest to leave the vehicle, the brakes are also set. It is a nice safety feature.
