Some years ago Kubota MXs were described two ways:
MX is a de-accessorized Grand L, priced to sell at a utility tractor competitive price, rather than a de luxe price.
MX is an 'L' in front and an 'M' in the rear.
Gives you some idea -------
All Kubotas are built the same: GUD.
I'll disagree with this a little bit. I think the basic L series tractors are the "de-accessorized" Grand Ls. I.e. the l4600 model. Also, I could be mistaken, but I think you have the axle arrangement backwards. I think the mx uses a Grand L spur gear rear end, as opposed to the planetary final drive found on the M models, but has a heavier duty front axle than found on the Ls. Again, I could be wrong on that. I kind of think of it as the MX series is to the M series as the BX series is to the Bs. I will certainly agree that they all seem to be built pretty darn "GUD".
