Kubota Mystery Backhoe - does anyone recognise this?

Greetings California, so glad to find you! I have the exact backhoe attachment and I could find no one who knew anything about it.
I see you have it mounted, looks great. I'm not sure what I'll mount it on. I have a real hillside here and I mean steep, I'm tempted to mount it on my jeep wagoneer. I have a Michigan 4wd tractor shovel but it doesn't articulate. It is covered but under the snow so this coming spring we shall see. Glad to see all this info on the k-650 thanks Valley

Taht looks identical to a Kelly backhoe. A buddy of mine has one on a Ford 1910 that I have worked on, the thing has been welded up a few times but he can't seem to kill it!

Stranger and stranger. It's not just a Kubota K650 backhoe, apparently that unit was also sold as a Yanmar model!

The same backhoe appears as a OEM Yanmar backhoe in this Ebay auction:

I emailed the seller with my photos and he said they look identical.

That's a YM240 like mine, so now I know I bought exactly the right size BH - it's the same one Yanmar sold around 1979-81 for my tractor!

I wonder how many are around. An owner who is refurbishing one contacted me, and one more poster passed up buying one that was priced too high for the repairs needed. That's four known Kubota units so far plus the Yanmar auction unit I described above.

re your pics 1 and 2 - I think the the digging stress is usually carried by the top link, but I see yours isn't connected. Is there something else transferring that stress back to the tractor?

For your steep ground that tractor looks better than a tall-tire ag tractor! I wonder if you could put duals on it to widen it.

I am the one that contacted you California. I really appreciate your posts on this subject as they have been quite helpful.

Today, I FINALLY got all the pieces of the K-650 back from the fella who sandblasted it for me. Looks pretty good and ready for primer. Unfortunately didn't get much done with it being -2 degrees to start the day. It did get up to 22 though so maybe I am just being lazy.

On a different note, I did get something accomplished today, went to the TYM dealer and talked to him about a new T273 that I hope to purchase at the end of Feb.

California, It isn't connected to a tractor, it was mounted on a aircraft cart for transportation. valley

California, The last owner instaled a small engine to test it, each time he tried to dig the engine died. I think the pump was turning too fast as it was hooked directly to the engine. The snow has come since the pictures were taken. When I can get to it I think I might try to get it working before reinstaling it. Valley
