Buying Advice Kubota or Kioti or Mahindra or LS or McCormick????

/ Kubota or Kioti or Mahindra or LS or McCormick???? #61
when i was looking at tractors i didn't notice a huge difference in price, there was a different but not more than $2-3K, to me that's not huge and hthe tractor i looked at were quite different (i was looking at stripped down utility tractors)

As with most things, I think that depends on the brands, and models in question. Take a NH Boomer 50 or Case Farmall 50B, and compare them with an LS R4047H (same tractor), and the LS will be $7-9K less expensive for the same setup (remotes, tires, etc. The side "benefit" is that if you go with the NH, or Case, you also get a significantly weaker loader for that extra $7K+!

i actually looked at both of them, the price difference was 225xx. for the ls and 247xx for the boomer (there was some very good incentives on it). and you're right the LS LL4401 can pickup 2500lbs to a height of 96.1" the 250 TL on the NH can lift 1940 to 106.8"

Wow, that's a slightly high price on the LS, and very low price on the Boomer. Are you sure the Boomer was quoted with all the options standard on the LS (dual remotes, draft control, etc)? I was quoted right around $30k (it's been a year, so I don't ave the exact number), and other folks have reported similar numbers.

The published specs on the LS loader are actually wrong. The manual shows max lift of 2,634lbs at the pins. They seem to have corrected it on at least some of the new models with the same loader. It would be smart for them o get that right since its in their favor!

Do you know if LS is going to be bringing a tier IV tractor out? And if CNH is going to stay with them in tier IV.

LS already has tier4 tractors out. The XR replaces the R series ... The XU replaces the U series. I can't remember the designation for the new P series ...

And I'm not sure about the smaller J series, but I thought I heard somewhere that the smaller tractors under a certain HP are not included in tier 4 requirements ?

And I'm not sure about the C/NH contract. I've heard different things. LS switched to Shibaura engines for the tier 4, from their own Mitsubishi licensed ones previously. C/NH has been using Shibaura engines for a long time, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I'm sure C/NH isn't too happy with LS stealing their sales by selling under their own brand name now.

GMan, you're shorting us 4lbs! It's 2638lbs ;)

Is the switch in engines to reason for the reduced hp. Seems to have lost about 10%. But they got heavier.

They only lost 1 engine HP and the extra weight seems to be the cab for some reason they don't list a non-cab unit.

Correction I only looked at the R4047 and the XR4046C but they did also loose PTO HP also, wonder what's up with that?

no it was optioned with only one remote but i believe the rest of the options were there. the NH was actually the second cheapest after the LS. cheaper than the kioti dk (i think) equivalent. and i found that the utility sized tractors were also very similar in price to the CUT tractors cheaper in fact for the MF and JD tractors

it would. however what i think hurts it the most and got it got crossed off my list instantly because of the lack of height.

The plot thickens…NH has a "Boomer 47" option on their "Build and Price" area, and it shows a Mitsubishi engine…they also show other models (like a Boomer 37 and 41) that didn't exist previously. They have slightly lower hp and PTO hp specs than the previous model. It sure looks like they managed to get a Tier IV Mitsubishi SQ4L engine package, because the other specs appear identical to the current Boomer 35/40/50.

I'm not saying they didn't give you that number, but something is wrong. If you do the "price and build" on NH's site right now, a Boomer 50 with FEL and one remote would be $33K, and an additional remote would be another $1K. The local dealer quoted me $31K (I had to find my notes), as an initial offer. I'm sure I could have gotten him down a bit more after some haggling, but not another $5-6K. Other folks have reported quotes, and purchase prices close to $30K, so something has to be off somewhere on that one.
