( Just use the pricing on the State of Minnesota website:

This information is out of date. There have been several revisions since this was printed. It also ignores about half a dozen other programs and costs that are involved.

If I remember correctly, the latest version didn't seem that far off from Aldermans msrp numbers. At least it gives someone a starting point.

( a dealer makes money on every item they sell )

Generally, yes, but in certain rare instances that isn't true; instances of being overstocked, a used unit that was given too much value when it was traded in, sales just to draw in customers, etc. so occasionally something is sold at cost or even below cost.

( when I can travel in a 100 miles radius of my home and get a price difference of over $1,500, something is wrong )

And what would be wrong? Don't you have the same situation with cars, pickups, etc.? And percentage wise, lots of other products, even groceries have an even greater disparity.

( Also last I knew Kubota dealers have a “window” to sell the units without paying for them. So if you get 20 and sell 20, you did not even pay for them. No overhead here. )

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifI assume you mean the dealer doesn't have to pay for them until after he sells them. Kubota certainly isn't giving them to him free. And no overhead? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The water, electric, telephone bills, perhaps rent, property taxes, employees' salaries and benefits - the overhead is still there whether or not he sells anything.

( they charged there people fright fees when Agway shipped the units with there own trucks (free shipping)! )

Free shipping? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Who paid to buy those trucks, hire drivers, buy fuel, oil, insurance, and pay for maintenance?

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Like Tim just said, MSRP means nothing. I toyed with the tool as well, I am sure there are a handful of models that they actually sell somewhat cheaper than what the tool priced out, others would be more expensive. Thats even ignoring all the sales programs which change almost monthly this time of year. As fast as these things move there is no way to really do this. I know Deere lists some rough MSRP for a few things, but to my knowledge no one has been able to make what you guys seem to want.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

MSRP numbers have helped me establish a preliminary budget for my next tractor and implements that I will purchase next year. I realize that pricing changes through out the year, but I would rather err on the high side for the budget than the other way. Do I expect to pay msrp, no way. I take these numbers, discount them and then added $XX for set up and freight. Think this gives me a reasonable number for the negotiation process. I may be a few hundred off one way or another, but at least I have a number when I walk into the dealership.

Then that is the dealers fault and should not be placed on the backs of the customers.

There is nothing wrong but again, don’t rip me off either. Cars at least where I shop are almost the same no matter what. Same with the grill I bought, the TV's I baught, r/c heli I bought & the list can go one and one.

( ( Also last I knew Kubota dealers have a “window” to sell the units without paying for them. So if you get 20 and sell 20, you did not even pay for them. No overhead here. )

Correct, the dealer has xxx amount of days to sell or then will have to buy them. Water is again, waste of time to added up, phone not much, taxes is a high or higher one, salaries blab blah. Unless the guys in the shop make $78K a year, have benefits with matching 401, no co-pay benefits and wonderful meds, it does not justify the huge delta in price. I can shop with 20 minutes in my state of 15 minute in CT and the prices are huge. Again, it comes down to the mighty dollar and they feed on people that are not doing there homework or scare them with "if you do not buy it here deal".

Also all the little things you stated are really a wash. Even my own taxes, water, electric etc are a drop in the bucket in the big picture.

Yes the dealer still has overhead and based on my wifes job, several of my friends, my parents and inlaws businesses, the mark ups are pretty good to put bread on the table. They are not starving here.

Yes, some items are shipped free. It is a wash I have seen the endless invoices from the work my wife does at home. 30 tractors, 500 pallets of this and that….The stores charge/add you for freight fees when it cost them ZERO to get from point A to there store. ! Maybe this is why Corporate Agaway went Chap 11…..:) They make money in all kinds of ways;

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

I think Kubota corporate and their dealers are missing the big point when it comes to MSRP pricing... Deere does it as everyone knows. What it (DOES DO) is stop the dealers from MSRP plus, and plus... As I've said here so many times before, if Kubota listed MSRP like Deere, everyone at least has a general step to start off with... Pricing tractors here in New England area was a nightmare. As much as 6K difference between dealers and some of these were 3K over supposed MSRP.. WIth MSRP posted say at 40K, the next dealer can't claim 45 or 48K as MSRP. Deere has enough information about tires, engines, loaders, hoes, etc, etc that one can get a pretty close handle on what their needs are... Kubota should follow suite, as they lose unbelievable amounts of sales because of this radical pricing, sometimes 30 miles between dealers,,,,
