Mr. Alderman,
How is warranty handled? Does Kubota not reimburse you for the labor and parts you put into warranty work? Would be nice to know for all the members.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

after burn out and listening to a wide aray of supposed prices over a two year period, I bought out of district. Since that time, I have found out over and over that my move was the correct one, bar none.. I'm treated so well by that long distance dealer that if I ever upgrade or buy another machine, I will call that same dealer., Won't even waste my time any more with the new england dealers... No one expects dealers to lose money in fact they should make money, They shouldn't have the opportunity as Kubota has offered through their rules and regulations, to gouge as badly as they do.,. And most of them complain there are minimal sales... Waht goes around comes around..

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

If you've got cracker jack service technicians with the right specialty tools and all of the necessary parts in stock you might just be able to break even on warranty. Kubota holds very firm to their flat rates. We are very lucky to have the right combination of the above and we usually do alright. However, Kubota will not pay for pick up and delivery. They will not pay for troubleshooting or diagnosis. and heaven forbid we diagnose wrong.
BUT. . .for the most part Kubota tractors are flawless. Warranty is almost a mute point. Like I said in my previous posts, most of the our service calls are for spoon feeding, hand holding, and babysitting. All terms of endearment I might add. We are truly blessed with the best customers just some of them are more skilled than others.

Kubota is not the villian here you guys. Talk to any dealer who sells both Orange and Green and you will get an earfull about how John Deere bullies, intimidates, controlls and manipultaes it's dealers. I for one am elated to have the Kubota franchise because Kubota truly cares for the welfare of it's dealer. They want to give us the best product at the best price, period. That is their sole focus. I don't ever want Kubota to get into the games that JD plays with internet pricing, volume discounts for multiple dealers, bounty's for competitive trades, regional programs, etc. Their business practices border on dealer cruelty.

I understand that you are all frustrated with the variances in pricing you find throughout your local market. For this, I truly have no explanation. Some dealers have not warmed up yet to internet shoppers or folks that use the info they gather to play games. But PLEASE!!! dont ever wish that Kubota would emulate John Deere in any way. Just the idea of Alderman's Inc. having to be a business partner with a company like John Deere make my blood curdle.

P.S. - Your MSRP's are back (yes, I gave in to all your whining /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

I absolutly second this. Many dealers who carry both blue and green would dump them in a second for a Kubota dealership. The company its top notch top to bottom, in product and the business behind it. There are over a thousand Kubota dealerships now and additional contracts are very hard to get. One just opened up about 3 hours from me and within days they had 11 applications for it.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

I hope most know that more and more mfg's are looking to do away with internet pricing. Honda Outdoor Power, Echo, New Holland, Cub Cadet is moving toward this. Part of the reason is to protect you the consumer. I have heard from several of the reps that call on us and they are constantly getting caught in the middle of someone purchasing a unit 100+ miles from them and then that same customer complaining to the mfg that thier local dealer is taking care of customer that purchased from them before ever looking at thier unit that was brought from Tim-Buk-Tu. As far as techs go I read that someone was deriding the money techs were making. Who would you rather work on your machine some one who is not a well versed desiel and hydraulic specialist or Joe Schmoe who may need you to bring it back 4 - 5 times to try to get it right? If you hire well qualified techs your customer base will be much happier after the sale. Yes to attract good employees our company does have a 401K, health benifits, vacation time, ect. Do you want to be served by a professional who knows what they are talking about or by some highschool kid guessing as to what you will need to accomplish the task at hand and in the future. Every day I talk to people looking for the lowest price on a tractor they can find with out realising why a non-synchronised transmission is cheaper than a synchronized. Which will they be happier with for the next 25 years that the tractor will be around for?

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Sorry about the whining Tim... we get like that sometimes! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I do appreciate you putting the MSRPs on the site. That is all I really want... something to go off of.

This post has became crazy the last two days! Well, let me speak for myself and most other TBN users that I appreciate your website and the info you can provide us. If something is causing you a problem.... it's just that.... causing YOU a problem and not the TBN users who don't want to accept that as an answer.

I respect whatever desicions you have to make.

Thanks

<font color="red">Example, the dealer can add fuel and installation cost to every BH, FEL etc when they had them all shipped at the same time (discount) and assy took no time (few hours). It is a small increase and do not justify the huge markup. </font>

I don't know much about running a dealership but I do know that every item shipped adds cost to the total shipment bill.
And every minute of time an employee spends doing something has a cost associated with it, much larger than most people would realize

<font color="red">When I worked for Agway they charged there people fright fees when Agway shipped the units with there own trucks (free shipping)! Double dipping here. </font>

Not free shipping. That driver does not work for free and the trucks need permits/liscense, insurance and maintenance.
For a lot of companies the cost is very close and sometimes more to use their own trucks for shipping. They use their own to have better controll of the whole shipping process.

I agree but the delta in increase is small here. I am not degrading the guys who fix the units at all here, but they are not driving MB SLK500's here either. My point in that labor is not a huge markup unless the dealer doubles it to make profit. The company I work for changes people over double what I make an hour for. Add in benefits, etc etc they are making money. Benefits are not that much either since I priced them out since I was going to become a contractor. That is why people have jobs, to make the business money. If not, you are fired (which I agree 100% with)

It is shipped for free to the dealers/stores since the dealers never EVER see the bill for freight, but you see the bill added in to your item. Again, I even asked how does this happen. It happens more then you know and on many many items. I also know what stores were paying for shipping and what the distribution paid. It is 100% profit on some items and that is on top of the profit markup. The profits are pretty darn good since they are giving away 2 hummers at the next show for dealers (this month). Too bad, there own dealers paid for them and more.

Again, I do not mind people making money but I hate it when dealers cry poor or this and that.
