Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

A couple other comments for what it’s worth.

I found my dealer for the Honda vehicle through the internet. This dealer in Tampa had two salesmen that did online sales. Most of these prices are usually come-ons, this dealer was not, they held to their word. I do not use one dealer against the other to bargain, but when I went to my local dealer to buy his price was way out of line with the other. I told him what I would pay (not dropping the other dealers name on him) and that I would prefer to support my hometown dealer. They walked away from the deal making a condescending comment of “perhaps you need to be looking at a domestic vehicle”. I bought from the other dealer. Now old traditional named American made tractors are made overseas and Japanese cars are made in America.

Also...I find it incredibly rude that anyone not seriously considering buying from you would take your time via phone or E-Mail, but consider it might be other dealers trying to give you a hard time and discourage your pricing. Hey, your prices are about a grand higher than those MI State DOT prices anyways so what are they worried about haha!

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

As the old saying goes, "I have no dog in this hunt..." since I've just bought my first Kubota, an old used one...

That said, I must agree with those who support internet pricing based on MSRP. I've closely watched the evolution and impact of the internet on automotive sales, since the company I used to work for built "sales configuration software" for automotive, heavy-duty truck, agricultural and other purposes (IBM and Compaq servers, Carrier air conditioners, etc.) My whole point is that it is entirely possible to build and deploy software that DOES take into consideration all the complexities of "what fits/what matches" specific models, the accessories/attachments/implements, any "special programs" in effect, delivery/destination charges, installation charges, etc. I know for a fact that John Deere has software that does that -- we developed it for them. I suspect that Kubota has similar software for the dealers, for them to place orders, but I don't know for sure...

Every heavy truck sold in the US is essentially "built to order" and the software has been in place for about 15 years to do that... the company I was with did it for them. Here's another example of their (our) previous work at GMbuypower.

Shortened Extremely Long URL

IMO, the internet has significantly changed how an automotive dealership sells cars, because the majority of their customers now walk in (or come back) knowing the MSRP of the vehicle they're interested in buying -- and a very close approximation of dealer cost -- if not from the manufacturer, then from 3rd parties such as MSN's Carpoint, Kelly Bluebook, numerous publications, etc. IMO, Kubota is behind the times already, compared to Deere's online pricing and should be looking at educating their buyers, not protecting their dealers' flexibility to do whatever they want...

I, too, live in New England (7 years now) and the pricing and sales strategies for both tractors and cars is dramatically different from any other part of the country that I've seen. Automotive sales ads, for example, show some ludicrously low price, then all the assumptions for that price are in the two inches of tiny print at the bottom of the ad... I now walk in with the MSRP printed for the vehicle I want, the Kelly Bluebook tradein value of my trade, and ask two questions:

1. What's your best deal?
2. Why should I buy this car from you?

I refuse to fall for their gimmicks!

I'll get off my soapbox, by ending with the point that it is Kubota Corporation's responsibility and a great business opportunity for them to clearly establish and disclose MSRP pricing -- not the responsibility of individual dealers. Any dealer who will disclose MSRP pricing, such as Alderman's, has done a service to both the consumer and the company....

MikePA: Cleaned up long URL. Please review your message before posting it. It's simple not to do this. Just insert a descriptive word or two between the {url=http://whatever}<font color="red">Enter words here</font>{/url} instead of the entire URL. Replace parentheses {} with square brackets in previous example.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

You're welcome. I still have mixed feelings about whether to show SALE PRICE. If I could figure a way to automatically add the freight and installation charges I would be more apt to show my best sale prices. However, until I have time to figure out the code, it will have to be MSRP's.

P.S. - Now, if I could just get all who use it to BUY from me I would be all set.

I tried, buy no one would return my E-mails or phone calls with a price. I gave up and bought the B3030 local (and I live in Michigan)
Still don't know if you could have beat the local dealers price.
The local dealer sales person was good to deal with, but the dealer prep fit and finish was pathetic. I've been back to the dealer with problems 5 times now.
But like many have said, I also looked at your site for the pricing. And thanks for putting it back up.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Interesting thread. Thanks for the dealer point of view. I think the internet is being underutilized by dealers. I encouraged my new Kubota dealer's salesman to get on the net (TBN) and get involved when he had some down time.

I have parts on my Kubota that I purchased from Carver's. Found out about them right here on TBN, gave them a call and they got a quick sale. E-bay is a fine example how comfortable people are purchasing items and then having them delivered. This is the future.

By the way I was on your site and was very impressed.

Brother can I relate. I'm not referring to aldermans but I can tell you that I have sent email and phone requests to several different dealers serving my area of NE Tennessee and have gotten only one response from one I hounded. I have not made a final decision on brand yet it's between kubota and kioti. I know what I want as far as which tractor and implement package for each brand but the dealer part (price, service, parts etc) is like going to the dentist. I'm trying to be in a position to make my purchase on my next trip up but that doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. And if this is how they operate during the pre purchase phase lord only knows what's gonna happen if I buy something.

I may be coming to see you after all Mr Alderman. Better yet, why don't you start up a franchise in my neck of the woods...LOL

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Mr. Alderman.... First, I want to commend you for your communication with this group and your website

Second, I see no reason not to reward you. I live in Michigan and plan to buy an L4330 HST this month. I have been collecting quotes, but to be honest the lowest two quotes come from dealerships close to me. But, the dealerships seem to be very unorganized.... Their desks look like a tornado hit them... I am not putting them down, just describing them.

That being said, I want to buy from you for your efforts on this sight. However, I am a bit uncomfortable with the distance from my house to your dealership... I understand I would have to drive up and close the deal face to face.

Please send a quote to the following address that includes delivery, pickup and delivery for ANY warrenty work, and the full 50hr service:

9211 Cranberry Lake Road
Jonesville, MI 49250

Here is what I want to buy:

L4330 HST
R4's loaded with Rim Guard
(2) hyd remotes
Rear work light

853 loader
Quick attach HD bucket
bolt on wear plate

Decent set of adjustable palllet forks (please include manuf.)

72" box blade with adj rippers (please include manuf)

I will buy from you if you are competative.

Enjoy your day!

It's nice though to have a resource like Aldermans offers to us ORANGE lovers.
