I need help with a Kubota 3000 DT range shifter that is difficult to shift. The tractor has less than 400 hours but is 12 years old. Any suggestions will be appreciated
I have a L4400 and the range shifter has to have the tractor unloaded to shift. I sometimes have to rock the HST pedal back or forth a bit to get the gears to unmesh. Try to put it in gear and put just a little pressure on the range select. Then let the clutch out a little till you start to move and push it in quick(keeping a little pressure on the range shifter) that usually gives a little slack in the gears so they can unmesh.
Thanks for the comments on my Kubota 3000 DT range shifter that sticks. I should have been more specific in the first post. The tractor has a manual gear box.
is your gear shifter in neutral when you try to select either H or L range? being in neutral seems to help on my manual tranny. also, assume your hyd fluid is in good shape & up to level. could any linkages be loose?
The H-L shift on my L3830 can be ornery at times. Eventually, it will shift when the tractor is in neutral using plenty of Jack Armstrong. Occasionally, I have to rock the tractor back and forth. I have made shifting between H-L a part of my daily routine, even though I rarely use the tractor in the H range.
