Mowing KUBOTA RCK6024B MOWER PROBLEM!!!!!!!

ToolGuy, Thanks for the Blue Bird site. I contacted the Tech Manager about the V533 ClamShell, which you have. With my 60-inch mower he didn’t feel that I’d be happy with the ClamShell because it is recommended for mowers up to 48 inches. He said that if the ClamShell unit were used with the 60 inch mower the tractor would have to be driven very slowly. How do you feel about this.

It has been my understanding that a MMM deck is supposed to be angled forward slightly for the best cut, But I guess thats not the case with the mower deck in question, Not sure I'd like a deck to ride on the ground like that.

I have only used it in the fall for dry leaves and it surprised me by how well it performed. I have not used it with this tractor on thick, wet grass so that may be a different story. It always worked well with the 50" mower on my JD318. It makes sense that one would have to slow down in heavy conditions and I do that as a rule anyway. One thing about the 60" Kubota mower that I have noticed is the tremendous amount of air that it moves. I think that helps the blower do it's job of sucking the debris through the hose. For a commercial operator a larger blower would probably work better, but for a homeowner I think this unit is all that you need. The ease of dumping compared to some others in the same price range is what sold me.

Again, thanks for the pic. I will be going for it, might have to take it a bit easy in the thick grass, so be it. I do like the way it dumps. Kubota has a grass catcher but it is only a three bagger (9 bushels total) compared to the Blue Bird 27 bushels. Kubota’s blower/vac unit runs off the mower via belt and pulley, which might be OK, but again, only 9 bushels. The Blue Bird plus shipping runs about $1500. The plastic housing, which fits over/onto the mower’s side discharge and then onto the blower, is the a universal unit from Blue Bird?

The original "chute" that came with mine was modified to fit my JD mower. It is not long enough to cover the opening on the Kubota mower without extensive and time consuming additional modification. Instead, I bought a chute for an Agr-Fab trailer-type lawn vacuum I saw at TSC. It was about $50 with shipping. The attached pic shows how it fits the Kubota. I also reinforced along the bottom edge with a piece 1/8" X 1" strap iron. It works very well.

Toolguy, you rule. Resurrecting this old thread just to say thanks! Got a used deck with a used B7800, and the deck is missing the rear wheels (and left side roller ***'y) - I'm going to use your chain method instead of paying $60 per wheel plus hardware. And I wont have the marks from the wheels, as a bonus! Think it's important to replace / hack something for the missing left roller?
