I'm a little surprised that most of Kubota's new hay equipment is to large to operated by nearly all of Kubota's tractors. I was hoping for a smaller line of hay equipment that could be operated by 35hp machines. HS

Of you are looking for a low to medium pto input bailer, you need to look to NH or JD. The NH with infeed discs (450U) is rated at 40 PTO input (with twine only and infeed discs). I have one btw, vrey nice bailer capable of asjustable density 5 foot diamter bales.

I'm seeing 60-75hp recommendations on mower conditioners and balers. That matches up to quite a few Kubota tractors. Not too many folks around here are doing hay with 35hp tractors.

They have a Center pull Mower Conditioner that's got 13' cut that they claim can be put behind a 74hp tractor, that's low HP requirements for a 13' Mower Conditioner.

The first stuff they put out last year that we looked at the Sunbelt Expo was lightweight stuff that most people wouldn't touch. Most people we talked to laughed at the stuff, it was all Vicon and lowerend Vicon at that. Most everyone was asking, when are we going to see some real haying implements? We were told 2 years minimum, guess we were told wrong. Wife and son didn't want to wait that long and purchased a new NH H7220 DiscBine this past Spring to replace a Kuhn.

Compare their 4 basket Tedder to our Krone 4 basket and the difference is night and day and at about the same price.

The smaller RB and the mower both weigh around 5K. That pretty much excludes anything under 70 pto horses in Kubota's lineup. I would not want 5K pushing me down a slope or pulling it up slope with a smaller tractor, specially one as light as some Kubota's are.....

I lik the looks of their rake, the 3ph single rotor model. Time for a new one here. The tedders look flimsy even in the pictures and it's definitely a Vicon bailer....

I didn't even look at the weight of the so called Economy baler. That's about 2000lbs. more than our JD 448. That's a lot of weight for an economy baler. All the baling here is done with a 12,000# tractor.

I know Kubota has eyes set to go head on with JD, but they shouldn't leave their roots and bread and butter behind. They should make a small line of hay equipment like offered at;

That our impression too on the rakes and tedder. Its priced inline with premium implements, but is on the light side. The stuff that's coming is a step in the right direction.
