Kubota Announces the new Grand L70

Doesn't look like they've done anything to address the long hood design resulting in poor bucket visibility. This is my only complaint about my L6060. My previous Case 55C had so much better visibility.
Funny you bring that up. All the tractors I have owned have terrible bucket visibility. Like none at all. I think that's the one big advantage of a skid steer, though I otherwise don't care for them at all.

Yeah I have a CTL now so anytime I'm moving dirt it's on it and not the tractor. My case 55c compact had a sloped hood and shorter nose. Bucket visibility was actually tolerable on it. That was the first thing I noticed when I traded for the Kubota was how horrible it was

Loaded with all the optional goodies will push it out of my price range.

You can probably blame modern emissions for that. They have to cram all the extra hardware under there. So no shrinking or sloping of the hood. Same for diesel pickups too really. I hate the complexity, but can work near the exhaust ok, Standing near a old pre-emissions machine gives me a headache.

At least you can reach most of the engine by opening the hood. Can't hardly work on a diesel engine in a pickup as it sits back under the firewall. This is how my GM dealer does engine work on a new pickup. I see the body lifted on one almost every time I go in for parts or service.

They added optional front and rear cameras to address visibility issues.

These new Grand L seventies look sweet. Hopefully they drive down prices on used Grand L sixties….

I find for having waited 13 years for the refresh. not enough is upgraded, did they atleast add a switch so that the cab light comes on when you open the door at night. I can't believe they had no light coming on on a $90K L6060. So far all I see are technology gadgets that most people aren't really going to use and that will not be compatible with phone technology in ten years.

Left that cab light on more than once. Had to jump start the tractor on one occasion. In addition to that door switch, they might also consider wiring that light to the ignition switch.

Wonder if the ROPS models will fit in a standard 7ft garage with the ROPS folded?

Really? My 5740 has an interior light that comes on when you open the door.

My 2000 JD had no emissions equipment and still poor loader visibility.

then it would be useless. the dome light in the cab needs to be like most cars built in the last 80 years. you open the door, lights on, you close the door, lights off. regardless of what the ignition switch is doing. but I guess a 5$ switch on every unit cuts into their profits by too much. My L4740 has the switched dome light too, I always thought downgrading a feature was such a ridiculous idea on the grand L60 series.

MF has offered a sloped hood version of their utility tractors for some time. The visibility is considerably better than a normal utility tractor. You do not have the same visibility as a skidsteer but its a nice improvement.

Here is a photo from the cab of one notice you cannot even see the top of the hood due to the slope.

To do it they angled the radiator back. In earlier models it was darned near a 45 degree angle.

The problem with most compacts is that there is just not enough room for the radiator to lay back and also to clear the top of the engine with a hood. The radiator on a L6060 is massive compared to the tractor and its still small compared to 60 hp utility tractors.

Are you sure about that? The L5740 has a selectable switch that turns the light on, off, or on with door switch. Surely they wouldn't have dropped a common feature that they were already including.

Sure would be nice if they pushed out some models without DEF while the EPA is relaxing the crippling emissions requirements. I wonder if regulations will reduced enough to make that possible. They'd sell like crazy.
