Kubota RTV 900 stuck in Gear !!!

The magic of shifting an RTV is 'Wait 10 Seconds while you hold your foot firmly on the brake'. The RTV is a hydro transmission, tied to a slidding gear transmission. You have to give the hydro 10 seconds to unload then it shifts like any other transmission. The gear transmission is trying to hold the machine in place. You have to transfer the load to the brakes before you can shift it. 100% fix for RTV shifting.

Ya,I hear you,I tried that magic sometimes it works sometimes it does not.Kubota knows that some of these trannys have a problem and mine was one of them.That is why they have made some tranny changes on the new models.coobie

Mine was stuck in High Gear.
I had trouble getting it working. Mine is a 2010 has 4 different gears including reverse. (our new one (2015) has only 2 forward speeds)
The shifting fork has 2 positions and 3 detents in each slide. (2 slides - each one has a detent in the middle as neutral)
The key to getting it working was to get one in neutral and then wiggle the RTV forward and back to get the second one in neutral.
Then I could put the fork in and it worked.
Previous attempts (without getting both in neutral) did not work.
Hope this makes sense to someone.

Read the manual. Stand on the brake pedal to release hydraulic pressure in the transaxle . There is also an update to the relief valve pressure adjustment of to update the relief valve.
Some models of the 900 would slide the rear wheels without touching the brakes by just lifting your foot off the throttle .

Got my jammed in Reverse as well...2011 model. Dealer fixed it. said it is a "design flaw" and said he put some kind of part on it so it will not happen again. No problems so far. I do notice (before & prior to my repair) though...the RTV shifts better when there's limited weight on the unit...get the machine level. when i back out of my shop, it's on a hill as i back out I turn left or right to get the until sideways on the hill...shifts much easier.
