Hey I am Think serously thinking about buying a RTV 1100. After reading about all the tweeking that may need to take place I'm leary. However, I own a Rhino 660 now and I know I will be trading speed for torque and an bigger pay load, and a hydralic dump bed. But, I am still very interested. I am going to put you in my favorites because you seem very knowledgable and I would like to be able to email you If I purchase one if I ever have any questions.

Thanks for your time

The RTV500 needed the tweaking. Also some of the earlier 900's have had some hydro tuning done by the owners. I did all of the adjuting on my 500..I'ver done nothing to my 1100. Perfectly happy with it as it was delivered. Don't let this thead scare you, there was context mixed into all of this.

Hi i'm new to this forum but ive read alot of the articles about kubotas, i recently moved to texas to work at the greystone castle ranch where i am the shop mechanic/ all around worker, i know cars and truck but never worked on tractors or kubotas. I've been doing well with learning how to fix and work on them but i have a kubota 1140 cpx that is really giving me some trouble, the kubota dealership techs dont know much or dont wish to help me but i was hoping to find an answer here. This kubota idles way to high and is very hard to shift, if you drive it to fast it gets stuck there and when you stop it keeps wanting to move ahead i have had it with trying to fix this kubota can someone help me on this matter?

Pyro, why don't you start a new post? This is one that is gotten away off tract and will be harder for others to find and give you advice. I have some ideas that you can try.

Do you have pictures and detailed adjustments for the 1140 CPX? Mine is a 2010 with 100 hours. I purchased it from a private person not a dealer. I am very mechanical and think I could perform amlost any adjsutment with detailed instructions. I am concerned about shifting, mainly into reverse and thye loss of power. I was on a small grade and I had no power in high range. Couldn't get started until I shifted into M. This was with no load and only me driving. That's only 210 lbs.

Larweber,
I had trouble with my RTV1100 when shifting as I was using it to plow snow. Going from R to L multiple time was painful slow. Took it to the dealer and had them adjust the neutral servo adjustment. It is an allen bolt with lock nut on the right side, passenger side, just above the yellow hst filter. My was off by quite a bit they said. But when I got it home it was still hard to shift. So, I adjusted the servo rod. That, with their adjustment, made the big difference. Do you have a manual?

On the H range no power issue. You have to remember this is a +2500lb vehicle and I think of the HST as an automatic clutch with a 3 speed transmission, L M H, and only 25hp. One Hp for each 100lb. Now if you had a 1/2 truck like the old ones with 3 on the tree, parked it on a hill, would it take off in 3rd. Might but you would soon burn out the clutch.

On the Kubota L is for the hard work, M cruising around and going up down etc. and H, just for the flat easy stuff. They will still pull a good trailer load on flat ground in H but seldom good on hills unless you have a good bit of speed starting out. Even M trying to start off on a hill will sometimes not go. It's the weight thing.

You should start a new post so other 1140 owners will find it easier after you get yours adjusted.
