As a 4+ year RTV1100 owner, I disagree. The 1100 is just a slightly bigger brother to the 900 and mine has been nothing but trouble free and does exactly what I bought it for.

If you're going to make a statement like that, at least provide some context to the opinion.

I helped a neighbor with some fence-work several years ago; we used his 900 to set cross-braces.

The bed had enough room to hold all the tools and ranch-wire. We set the spools of ranch-wire into the vertical stake-pockets on the bed; and we fed the wire from there. We drove over several berry-thickets, on sloped pasture, through two mud-bogs, and drove down the rural highway to get to the fence lines.

It did everything it was supposed to do; which I believe is ranch-work and not necessarily to run as a a recreational "crotch-burner" on the off-road trails.

I thought it was an awesome piece of equipment that could handle anything I wanted to throw at it; having my daredevil years behind me.

Absolutely..They weren't built or sold as an off-road screamer. They are workers for which they have little competition in a head-to-head comparison in that purpose. If you want an RZR, then get one, just don't expect it to do much beyond go 50MPH which I don't have any use for.

Yesser,

The ergonomics of a piece of equipment means so much-more to me than any other OHV-attribute in my ranching and woodlot setting; although I must inoculate my self and admit to waiting for the camouflage version with ATV tires.........:ashamed:

H1N1 inoculation: I still appreciate the memories of spinning Brodies on large areas of grass with my 1974 Ford Maverick. :D

When an operator needs to work 4-6 hours a day for several days at a time, productivity can be defined as being able to access equipment or tools from either side of the vehicle, getting in, operating, and getting out easily (with muddy feet), and also having sufficient payload/torque/low-end power to safely haul and pull equipment and materials.

Whatever OHV that can provide these productivity attributes; gets my vote.

I have had a rtv900 for 3/4 years and the thing has never shifted right. It always bines up when shifting. Another thing is the driveshaft noise that sounds like it going to come through the floor. Then when I put the snowblade on it went from binding to cannot shift at all hardly. When you have to shut it off to change gears you know it's a problem. Every Kubota dealer I talked to says thats just the way they are. Really?? I've come to the conclusion that Kubota service centers are crap. They just want to sell you a new one. Guess most places are like that :) Maybe other kubota dealers are different but I doubt it. I like my BX way better. It just works better.

You must have gotten a BX that doesn't have the hydraulic gremlins my father's does. 5 times in the shop for repair work within the 2 yr warranty....the last trip they adjusted the hydraulic pressure relief way down (they claim not but the loader won't lift a full bucket of heavy snow now) and the dang thing is still seeping somewhere in the rear of the tractor. I hear a lot of people that brag up the quality of Kubota but I haven't seen it, in theory they make nice products but in my father's BX tractor and my old RTV 500 I'm not convinced. I would agree service centers would make a difference the problem is if they are the problem I'm not close to the really good one....that being said the selling dealer has been excellent on other brand products so I'm thinking it's a Kubota problem but who knows. I'd really like to get the BX to not leak any fluid, it's still under 5 yrs old and it leaks more hydraulic than my 40 yr old International 2544.

I recommend the Polaris 400, 570, or 800 Midsize Ranger. I really like my 400!!! Rides super smooth.

I'm probably 98% I'm going to buy a polaris ranger, either the 570 or the 800. I want a bench seat and something that goes 40 or over. Heck I might even go for the 400. All I know is I want it to shift without swearing at it :) I don't mind the 610 Mule but I can't handle going 25mph. I will miss the rtv mileage though.

I am never short of power with my 400. It's actually 450 cc! It's 400 HO. Carbed. Starts right up too. I wanted carb since I can work on it easier. Mine will easily run 45 mph and that's plenty fast for me! Plus the 400 is the lose leader (cheap!).

You should go drive them and see which u like. I would love the twin cylinder for the smoothness but just can't justify the extra money.
