Kubota Snowblowe & Quick Hitch Availability

RAD got back to me again today. They indicated that they have been making regular shipments of equipment to Kubota. They have no idea how much of this equipment is promissed to customers already or what Kubota is doing with it. They did say that the demand for snow equipment is up this year. They did not really seem to indicate any kind of shortage on their end. This past weekend I spoke with a dealer that said RAD was making all the I-Match equipment for Deere and that was puting them behind on the production of Kubota stuff. So I really don't have a clear answer for why there is such a shortage of front mount equipment.

Every day that this goes on I get more frusterated and wisht that I had not even bought a new tractor.

Farmall, are your snow blower and the blade you have on order both front-mount? I've assumed, from your posts, that they are. If so and if the east coast blade falls through, talk your dealer into lending you a good rear blade for use on your 3PH. Something like a Woods RB60 that's adjustable for tilt, can be floated on tilt, and can also be rotated around 180 degrees to face aft.

I move almost all my snow here in upstate NY with a B7610 and an RB60. On paved driveways, the blade works very well. On gravel, I have to be careful and often back-blade to keep from digging in. The loader sees some use, but not alot.

Point is, with a blower on the front and a good rear blade on the back, you'd be set for most anything with minimum hassle. No time wasted in changeovers and everything would be on the tractor and ready to go at the same time. Plus you'd have some rear ballast to help traction when snow blowing. Have often thought that a front blower/rear blade combo would be ideal and handle about anything.

Give it a try, anyway. The slow delivery may be a blessing in disguise. If the rear blade works well enough, buy it and have your dealer cancel the front blade. You'd probably save $1500 or more if you went that way.

You're getting a great little snow mover there; don't let delivery problems on one attachment sour the whole experience for you. Sounds like your dealer's doing about what he can. There's a raft of problems in this country, right now, that are worthy of serious concern. Kubotas and their dealers aren't among them.

Yeah Farmall, how could you possibly be concerned about your plow attachment when the financial industry is sinking and U.S. automakers are heading for bankruptcy?!

I think Farmall thought long and hard about the specific attachments he wanted on his tractor. Suggesting he just go with an inferior alternative and suck it up isn't all that helpful. He put together a tractor package with specific options and attachments and paid for them all. There's not much he can do about the problems the country is facing right now. He might be able to get his Kubota situation ironed out however.

You hit the nail on the head with your post. I though a long time about my tractor purchase. I have always loved tractors ever since I was a little kid. This Kubota was the most expensive thing that I have ever purchased. ( I am 25) It is hard to spend that kind of money and then to just settle. I sold a lot of things that I have collected over my life including a 1945 Farmall B that I restored in high school with my father and late godfather as well as worked long and hard to by my Kubota. My tractor was meant for one thing and one thing only, to be a toy for me to play with. I did not think that it would very fun to blow snow looking backward so I went with a front mount snow blower. My garage space limits me in length to so the quick hitch implements work well for me as they remain pretty tight to the tractor. A back blade would not work for me both as it does not have any spring trip, and would likely damage paved driveways when it hits cracks, besides being too long again.

That being said, I do have the snow blower and quick hitch on the tractor now. My dealer called around to several dealers around the country to try and locate a blade for me. In the end, he ended up talking to the Kubota rep who was able to get one on the way. It is supposed to be here end of this week or early next week. I will keep everyone updated as to what happens with this situation. To anyone who is waiting for front end snow equipment, have your dealer bring it to the Kubota reps attention. Also consider calling dealers all over the country to try and locate the equipment yourself. Here are some pictures of the blower and quick hitch for anyone that would like to see what they look like on a B2320. Hopefully action shots soon.

Just an update on this. It looks like our stock orders for snow equipment are running 60-90 days late. Apparently there is a combination of fault between Kubota and RAD. Kubota got their snow order in a bit too late, and RAD did not antisipate the size of the order was not prepared to fill it. We are getting alot of assistance to find things for retail orders, things are shipping in very small quantities, and the company is really bending overbackwards to try and minimize the headaches. Retail orders are getting filled, stock orders won't arrive for awhile.

Looks great Farmall! My dealer had to remove the loader support brace to install the hitch. I got that in a box, along with the front support for the mower deck, and 2 bolts that came from somewhere!? Did you have something similar for your setup? I think that manual rotation support is pretty nifty. Much better than the ridiculous little clamp Kubota spec'd for the BX2660.

I did not get any extra parts back. I had heard there was a brace for the loader, underneath right where the engine oil pan is that had to be removed, but nine is still installed. I was told loader, quick hitch, and mower can all be installed onto the tractor without having to unbolt anything. Of course not all at the same time, but the mount brackets for each stay on the tractor and don't interfere with the others.

I looked with interst at your pics of the snowblower because it is the same one that is going to be installed on my BX23 next week. I did opt for the hydraulic rotator and electric chute deflector. I saw that your subframe is different in a couple ways than the one for my tractor even though the snowblower fits both. What I do like is that you don't have to take the guard off to mount the subframe. The BX guard has to come off which is a pain (even if off/on only once a year) because it bolts to the front of the tractor frame. Your setup looks good..now I can't wait for mine.

Please post pictures of your setup when you get it. I was afraid that I would have to remove my grill gaurd, but I was told on the new Bs that everything stays attached and you can simply switch between whatever implements that you like. The quick hitch is the neates thing ever. I am really impressed at how fast implement changing is and even going from quick hitch to loader only takes a few minutes. I would like to see the hydraulic rotater and electric deflector when you get it, especially the controls.
