Brilliant!

How much of a royalty do I need to send you for utilizing your idea?

:)

When I see things like this it shows my lack of creativity. I would never have thought of anything like that. I'm with boblibido.

Fantastic job!

I could see making one like this that goes the full length with dividers..

Did you scuff up the PVC before painting? Are you seeing the tube get scratched up as it comes in and out, does it have a lot of friction as it slides?

Well Done!!

Great use of an unusual space! I may adopt your PVC idea but affix it to the ROPS (for longer tools). I guess that water could penetrate if it were left outside and it rained. Perhaps you could, "incorporate an O-ring into your ingenious invention". One that would slip over the 4" PVC and would be retained by the cap, A Dremel tool to divot the circumference of the cap to get that snug fit.

I think that you could market this as there are so many loader Manufacturers that utilize this same (empty hole) on their FEL. I would buy one!!
May want to patent it and sell your idea, it is a good one.

Is yours deep enough to hold a chainsaw file? That was the first thing that popped in my head for a use.... that and spare chainsaw chains/rag's.

Not only do I like the clever idea of doing this in the loader frame tubes, but think of cases where you could simply strap on a big PVC pipe and then make a smaller PVC pipe drawer that slides in and out. I think the circular cross section would have many advantages on a tractor. Makes a real convenient drawer shape for tractor use.

PAPPASMURF, how did you slice the pipe lengthwise -- table saw?

Great idea!
A thought, instead of screws PVC glue could have been used.

Someone suggested using an O-ring, if the ring was about 1/2" in it would create a snug fit and possibly eliminate need for the PIP pin.

Those of us who lurk on this site long enough see the wheel re-invented time after time... I like the PVC tube idea- you have good access to whatever you store in it. Paul Short did something similar about 5 years ago by machining some aluminum caps that fit into the loader arm crosstubes. They had O rings to hold them in place, and seal, and a handle to pull them out. But no "tray" for little goodies. I forget what he was storing in there.

It's exactly 1 foot long, so yes a chainsaw file and extra chain will fit. This tube does not go all the way through to the other side, they are only about 1 foot 2 inches on each side so it worked out perfect. I have a tie down strap (ratchet type), 3 wrenches, two screw drivers, vice grips, chain saw tool and file, and pliers in one compartment!

The caps are glued, and screwed I was just making sure the cap would never pop off! lol :cool2:
