Kubota B3030
Thinking of getting a tiller for this upcoming summer ( and beyond of course) and have some questions of the "tiller Guru's"... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kubota has several models to fit a B3030...BL60C...FL1271C..and FL1271RC..(??) All are "chain drive"...50 inch wide models.

1) Can I buy a WHOLE LOT BETTER rear tiller for LESS MONEY...than these models? ( I have no idea what they might go for??)
2) Chain drive or Gear drive?...Why??

I have no intention of using such a thing "commercially"..and in the beginning would be used a LOT more than in later years...which I think might be typical.

ALSO...how much "trash" can one of these things "digest". Im not about to "sift" pencil sized sticks and such out of piles of "compost" Ive spred on the yard..etc..and intend on tilling into the soil. Whereas Id stop and remove some "telephone pole" I found in the yard... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...I just have no idea what a 50-60 inch wide rear tiller ..using my B3030 will "chop up" as it were

Any help appreciated and if you know of a "better deal" by "Brand name and model"..( such as a ?? BushHog model ABC...etc)..definately let me know.

Thanks

I have the FL1271RC for my B2910. If you are buying local and comparing prices to Land Pride and other brand names. You will find the prices are similar. I was going to purchase a Howard Rotovator until my dealer offered the Kubota model for much less than the Howard. When doing one pass tilling the rear tine tiller will take all the power your tractor has in some soils.
I do not think you will wear any of the chain drive tillers out.

I appreciate the reply Ron.....and Yes! Id purchase something like this local for sure. When it comes to impliments a lot of people will tell ya that you need a "X" brand..or a "Y" brand because ...?????...sort of thing. But my needs will never dictate that I need "Snap-On brand" qualty...if you get my drift. But I dont want some POS that breaks all the time either...lol. And Im not "color blid" either....Just because I have an "orange" tractor dont mean I cant run "green" equipment...lol

Thanks!

Sully2 take a look at First Choice. It's a brand name of Buy Smart, Inc. With your tractor you might want to consider the RT04-60 model. They come in all the popular colors 48",52", 56" and the 60" size. I forget their web site, just do a search for First Choice. Price medium, manufactured in Wilson, NC.
I have 48" on the back of my BX2230 and no problems yet.
I hit some rocks in my garden and the blades took the hit with no problem. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
