I've recently been convinced to at least consider no longer bothering with Sears tools. Their sockets are very junky anymore, I suppose because the accountants determined that it was more cost effective to increase their replacement rate and decrease quality than it was to maintain the same quality they used to have.![]()
Thats too bad to hear! I haven't bought anything from Sears in probably 3 years or so. Actually all of the "tool sets" and probably 99% of the other Craftsman tools that I have are 10 yrs old or more. I have a 1/2" Craftsman ratchet that was my grandfathers and is probably 35-40yrs old, that is the toughest ratchet I own. I once used it to break loose a couple bolts that I bent my 3/4" breaker bar on, the old 1/2" ratchet and a 3' pipe the bolt was loose. It is true when people say "they don't make things like they use to"!
