Problem solved

I had the tractor serviced today and the mechanic solved the problem.

It was indeed a sticky rack and I now even know how it works along with the govenor system of springs and fly weights.

There is however a bit of a down side in that the springs are old and stretched a bit which is not allowing me max revs. He was also not sure if he could get new ones, being a grey market tractor.

So does anybody know where I might get govenor springs (there are 3 of them) for a Kubota D1102 engine.

Wow- so all this time it was a fuel issue; sounds like David_Kb7uns nailed it!

This has been a very educational thread, from start to --almost finished? rhamer, thanks very much for all your updates. I'm sure we've all learned something here.

(I hope I never have to take my injector pump apart... going back to my old 504D wagon, I often described the pump as "being built like a Swiss watch"! If you'd like to hear an interesting story, research Rudolph Diesel and a guy/company named Bosch around the turn of the century....)

If you have no luck with your springs as replacement parts, you might be able to find a spring specialist-- don't know if there are even such folks around anymore, but it used to be that there were shops which could fabricate small coil springs to order. WBB in NH

back in post 6 I was betting on sticky rack.. glad it turned out to not need a big deal of work to correct.
