Maybe look at a Scag or a Toro. Very few complaints about the construction of these machines.

I do not have a ZD18 but I did buy a new kubota ZD326 pro with a 60 inch deck and could not be happier with its performance.Where I live is somewhat hilly and the 326 mows great.The only complaint I have is that I had a simplicty/ferris ZTR with independent suspension before the kubota and the ride on the ferris was much smoother.coobie

Let the rear tire pressure down to about ten lbs.

We absolutely love our ZD-21 with the 60" ProDeck. Zero problems. Would not have anything else, this thing is a life saver!

I have a ZD21 with the pro 60" deck and it has been great! no problems at all. I think the early ZD 18 and 21 models did have an issue with a input shaft bushing instead of a bearing, this was handled by Kubota. I think the very first ZD models came out in 99 or 2000. I understand the 326 and 331 models are fantastic and take the older ZD's to the next level.
