Kubota M5140 has Engine HP-52-PTO HP-46 Bush Hog 296-45 minimum PTO HP--weight-1095lbs BB720X-35-120HP required--weight-1200lbs. Check out this website TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors You will find the specs and info in regards to your Kubota M5140 there. The final decision will be yours. if you dont want a fel you can add front weights to the tractor.i had considered front weights.but i could always use a 2nd loader so i went with the fel.

No, but you will need a mostly full rack of front weights. The majority of my tractors are set up like that. I can carry a 8' bush hog on the 3pt, no problems keeping the front end down.
...and fwiw, I carry a 7' bush hog behind my m6040 that has the same lift capacity as a m5140 and it handles it just fine (that one has a cab and loader though).

The tractor will handle it, but I would add ballast to the front as mentioned.
I have a Land Prided RCR2672 on my L5030 and it works really well, but in the hills I use the FEL to keep the front wheels on the ground; the M is a heavier tractor. We prefer the HST over gears though we use both.

Another "moved" dead thread. Sorry but I've seen dozens of these moved threads by new members who never come back and post. I have to assume they can't find their original posting and may give up. And, while I peruse TBN about every day, I have only once seen a link from the moved original post. Something is not right. I know I've brought this to the admin's attention before with assurance moved posts are handled correctly, but my common sense seems to indicate otherwise. I just scanned 4-5 pages in on the general Buying/Pricing forum (where I assume most of these posts are moved from) and don't see any links to Moved threads. Sorry for the OT interjection.
