Kubota\'s OEM Top-N-Tilt

I have done a few searches and come up with some good info regarding this. Mainly a few folks who are unhappy with their OEM setup. I understand that piloted check valves are desireable on the TNT's (still not really sure why though) and that the Kobota OEM cylinders don't have them. My question is, are their any Kubota owners with the OEM TNT setup who are happy with it? Can these check valves be added to the Kubota cylinders? I am a hydraulic newbee so please bear with me.

I have contacted CCM and all they have are the top links and don't really know when the side links will be in. I need to do something fairly soon as I have 1200' of gravel drive that rises about 500' in elevation. With all this Oregon rain the road is getting pretty bad. I am able to get it passable with my current setup but their are spots where the TNT would really shine. I have a great dealer and they install the OEM kits all the time and have not experienced any of the problems I have read about here. I don't need to make a living with the setup and it would mostly see limited use, maybe 6 times a year for the road and some upcomping landscape projects. If anyone could shed a little more light on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Kubota\'s OEM Top-N-Tilt

I have tried several times myself and once going thru my local hydraulic repair shop to find a source here in the USA for the double pilot operated check valves with no luck. Nowhere can the valves be found that have the correct cracking pressure. Other valves are available and may or may not work but they are expensive (around $75). The CCM units are made in Europe (Spain I think) and the valves are available there. About 2 years ago Mark (CCI) posted the correct specs.

You can probably get away with using a non-check valve cylinder for the tilt link since you are only going to be using it infrequently and it can be removed easily. However, I would only use a top link that had the check valves.

Good luck trying to get the correct setup.

Re: Kubota\'s OEM Top-N-Tilt

Thank you for the quick response. Hopefully others will chime in with their experiences with the Kubota OEM TnT set up.

One more newbee hydraulic question that I thought of. If these TnT cylnders leak down like this, why then do the loader cylinders not do the same thing? I can drive around all day with the loader in the same place with no leak down at all. Also, I can park it overnight with the loader on the mid position and it will still be there many days later. I don't regularly do this but have done a little testing with no leakdown here either. Like I said, I am not well versed in hydraulics so was curious about the loader.

Re: Kubota\'s OEM Top-N-Tilt

Anyone have the Kubota OEM topntilt and their tilt stays put just fine?

If you have more than one rear remote, does your tilt leak down at the same rate regardless of which rear remotes it's plugged into?

I am trying to figure out what is normal and whether the OEM TnT leaks down more than aftermarket kits like the FitRite.

I want TnT but depending on how fast the tilt fell it could drive me crazy sometimes when I was not running something I needed to adjust occasionally.

But in reading the threads it sounds like MtnViewRanch is correct that the real issue is certain kubota rear valves leaking. Maybe they all leak a little?

IF your valve ends up leaking and the dealer will not fix it, there are several things that can be tried, but worst case is to just unplug the hoses and go to work. The cylinder will be fixed at that adjustment and should not move. ;)

I guess one key question on leakdown is what is considered normal. Naturally it will leak a little.

Here is the problem. In my eyes 1/4" per hour should be acceptable. Different manufacturers have different rates of drop that they consider acceptable. If you are farming, then it might need to be zero. Depends on the actual use. Might want to ask your dealer what it would be for your tractor. BEFORE you take delivery.

Just get top and tilt cylinders with the piloted check valve and leak down is a non issue . The cylinders with check valves never leak down.
Years ago I tried top/tilt cylinders without check valves and my cylinders always needed readjusted from leak down.(its a huge PITA)
I replaced them with top/tilt cylinders that have the piloted check valve, and my cylinders NEVER leak down. They stay where I put them.

Re: Kubota\'s OEM Top-N-Tilt

I have a question, when folks complain about their Kubota OEM TnT settling too much, pretty much they only mention their tilt cylinder moving.

Is this because they adjust their top cylinder so much more often it is less and issue?
