l-2800 Valve noise

Just a question on what i think is valve noise.

This is wrt my L2800 that i purchased a few months ago. It has wopping 111 hours on it now. I've had it for 2 running hours, been too busy to use it much.

Question is, when i start it cold the engine purz like a kitten - silent with of course the nice sound of a diesel. After it warms up about 1 minute or so i hear what i think is valve lash noise. After it idles 5 minutes or so the noised diminishes to silent. The other niose it may be similiar to would be injector nailing - perhaps.

Any thoughts about this? 111 hours isn't many but i don't know the progression of this noise. Does it sound like valve lash with those characteristics, or other source? Should i check valve clearance as a diagnostic?

It might be just the cold engine not running right although I don't ever remember hearing it.

My L2800 did the same..127 hours..start up.
Service tech said once engine running slighty increase your rpms while warming engine.

Thanks for the data point. Did the service technician think it was out of clearance valves, did he think it was abnormal, or any explanation for the noise?

I remember saying it was lugging..oil etc. wasn't warm slower flow.

You do have to set valve lash on these tractors but I think it is 400 hours, check your operators manual. 111 hours is quiet early to need to adjust the valves but still possible I suppose that it could be needed.

If it goes away when the engine is warm it's not something I'd worry about.
