L 3710 HST glow plugs

Mine were coming on and staying on, so I purchased and installed a new glow plug relay. That did not solve the problem. I removed this (see picture) and the glow plugs indicator light stopped being lit. I googled the part and there is nothing on the internet about it other than NGK makes it.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

It is a common failure costs about $70 it applies Ground to the glow plug relay coil. You can replace it, Or put in a momentairy push button switch that connects ground to the coil on the glow plug, making it a manual operation instead of an automatic... KennyV

Thanks Kenny. I know nothing about the glow plug circuit. How would I go about installing this switch? Would I need to leave the switch on for as long as I want the glow plugs to stay on?

Use a Spring loaded, Momentary switch. Either a push button or toggle type. But definitely use a switch that Returns to Open when you let go of it... That way you will not accidentally leave it on. That switch will complete the path to ground for the coil in the relay for the Glow Plugs.
In the link I posted above I have the circuit for the glow plugs... KennyV
