L 5030

Since you are getting the additional hydraulic hookups anyways, why is the dealer having you spring another $ 5-600 for the PTO pump? Sounds like redundant duplication, if you know what I mean. I have a PTO pump for my BH, and it works fine, but often thought the other setup would be a bit less trouble.

Also, IMHO you really should try to go for a 9 ft. BH, not a 7.5 footer, on that 5030. Not that you will always be going down the extra depth, but you will definitely appreciate the extra reach so you're not repositioning the tractor quite as much. Besides, a 7.5 ft hoe will look kinda wimpy on that 5030! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is the prices I got seem OK?
A Woods #9000 hoe will cost 7750 with a 18" bucket.
Add all together $38275, MAN that is alot of money.

Those are indeed big $$$, but what you are buying is pretty much top of heap in the world of "compact" tractors (although I have to think once you get over 40 hp or so and weight upwards of 5,000 lbs., well, it isn't really a compact anymore... calling it a small utility tractor might be more accurate).

Those prices sound in the ballpark to me, but someone whose specifically shopped/bought a 5030 could probably tell you better than I could... my tractor is a 4610 that's a couple years old now.

Last prices I heard for Woods 9000's were in the $7k range when part of a new tractor package, but that was also about 2 yrs ago. Maybe with the price of steel and all, $7,750 is in line, but, again, maybe someone else has more current information.

I don't know about L5030 prices except for the Grand L remote valves. The second and third valves are only about 2/3 the cost of the first. I recently bought an L3130 and got 3 remote scv,s for $1325. There is very little extra labor to adding the 2nd and 3rd valves at the time of purchase. On my L they pulled the right wheel and fender, with the cab they will probably only remove the right wheel. There is a few $100's you might save.

I drove 3 hours to see a 5030 today. I pulled the trigger. I added one float scv on the rear the other is standard (no float)
5030 cab hydro, R-4's ( I rather have ags but R4's came with it), LA853 loader with QT bucket $4475, woods 9000 BH $7650, 18" bucket, this also comes with a PTO pump for the hoe. He told me there was no way to hook the tractor hyd up direct?? Grand total $38K
It will be 2 weeks before the hoe gets in. So I have to WAIT
It is going to take some time for the color to look right to me, but for a factory cab heat/air and much less than JD quote I can get use to it. I really hope the 5030 stays out of the shop more than my last two JD's did.
Thanks for all your help and advise. I am sure there will be more to come latter.

Hey, let me know what you think of it. I used to bleed JD green until I got the "cab fever" and bought the L5030HSTC. I too have the LA853 loader with QT, and R4's. I was told that I couldn't use a backhoe very easily on it with the cab. I'm really curious how your backhoe works out. If it works well, you may have just cost me some more money. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I've got a whopping 10.5 hours on mine so far! I'll add to that when I mow some tomorrow.
If you have any of the JD suitcase weights, look at the pictures I put up on the "customization" area. I made my 5030 where it accepts the weights when I have to loader off and am mainly doing mower work.
Again, I'm really curious as to how you like your Woods backhoe. Please post and let me know how you like it! Good luck! I think you'll love the tractor.
Oh yeah, my long time JD dealer told me that JD will be coming out with a similar sized tractor "soon" that has a factory cab with A/C. I told him that it might be too late, as I think I really like this Orange thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If it works I have a picture that another dealer mailed me of a woods 9000 on a 5030 cab model.

DDT, uh rats! Your dealer is too far from me, and my dealer says it won't work. Obviously it will work. I'd just like to see how well it works etc. I assume that one would have to open the rear glass of the cab first in order to run the throttle and loader. I just wonder how practical that would be. In other words, I wonder if it works great, or it just works. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Thanks for posting the pic!
