Tractor Sizing L-series what size

Gordon,

Not to confuse the issue and not to insult...just thought that maybe you should go look at some New Holland tractors. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Seems that a couple Kubota owners have traded in their L series Kubotas in the last few weeks on NH's at my dealer. While I was there today there was a second L on the lot used for sale and someone on the phone wanting to trade in a Kubota! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

If you've got a decent NH dealer nearby, you might just want to give them a look-see!

Good Luck, JimBinMI

I'm with you 100% the extra lifting and breakout force is worth it. Here is the scoop I've narrowed it down to three models 3710-4310 and maybe the 4610 but it's looking like the 3710 so far.

The only real difference I can see between the 3710 and the 4310 is the horse power the 3710 has 7hp less, other than that not much. Now tell me do you think that I would really miss that 7hp? My head spins on.

Mike what kind of tires did you go with?

Gordon, you may not miss the hp. but try a loader on a 4610 first, you will be supprised at the diff. and theirs not much diff. in the size. One thing I don't like in the woods is the 72" bucket, its just to wide. When I ordered the 4in1 I got a 64", thats only 4" wider than my ford had it worked well. Now if if it will only all get here so I can get moving, logs are going bad in the woods, to much rain.

Gordon - If you're debating between the 3710 and the 4310, I doubt you'll notice the hp difference. Even with all the tire changes and ballast, etc. hp is never the limiting factor on my 4310.

That's one thing I haven't done is drive the 4610 only sat on it didn't test it. The four link loader and added lifting is aways a plus. I hope you get soon as well hate to see good timber go to waste.

Rich, I went with the R-4 tires & have 8psi in rear & 30psi front & for my uses they are fine! Gordon, I was originaly going to get the 3710 also but the extra HP with the hydro is a plus and the $$$ dif. was very small from carver and I do like not having to run the machine wide open all the time and with the 4310 I dont.
I'm glad I went with the ex. horses.

gordon,

As you know, buying a tractor according to your needs takes some planning.

In my experience with, tractor's and basically every kind of excavation equipment made. To Much Horse Power Is, ALWAYS better than Not Enough. I tried out the L3010, It lacks in the H.P. area to fit my needs, I intend to mow my lawn area (aprox 8 acres) with a 72" rear discharge finish mower, also use a 72" tiller once in a while and some other misc. attachments.

I havent tested the 45 Horse catagory Kubota as of date, only because I havent found one to try. I did however test, a TC45 N.H. yesterday and, the N.H. compared to or, beat the 3010 in all of my test's (with exceptions given to the H.P. difference).

Good luck in your search and from my point of view....Test drive'um ALL.

Yea you have a good point you can never have to much horsepower at times thats for sure. I've been looking over the spec sheets pretty heavy on the L-series and I'm really leaning toward the 3710. The 4310 and the 4610 have the same bore and stroke the only difference is the 4610 hp rating is as 2700 instead of 2600 of course it has a better loader and heavier front axle.

The bore on the 4310 is 3.4 compared to 3.1 on the 3710. Now this part I'm assuming (same block)? If it's the same block either the liner is thinner or the block has been bored out more to accept the larger liner. So in that reguard once again I'm leaning toward the 3710. My head spins on. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Also got a price on a tip and tilt $700.00 so what ever tractor I end up with it will have that installed as well as a loader.

Zimmerer has a good selection of new M Series tractors. You would have to settle for a 2000 model since they just came out in April. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I bought the standard tractor with loader, 4WD, and quick connect bucket kit. There were no other options - it was all there from the factory.
