L185 Diff Lock

The diff lock on my old L1501/L185 works OK but won't pop back off. It is apring loaded and should only work when pressed down.
But mine sticks on and I often have to reach down and pull it up with my hand.

Any ideas ??

Try spraying some penetrating oil around where the shaft goes into the trans case and work the pedal up and down. See if that frees it up.

So you don't expect there is any gear problem causing this, rather just a linkage ?

The linkage appears to right through the housing and pokes out the other side too.

Neil, if the slippery stuff does'nt help, on the right side where the linkage attaches to the diff. lock rod that goes into the trans. housing you should see two flat pieces of spring steel. That's what returns the pedal. If they're broke or wore out just order: one 37150-2664-3 and one 37150-2666-0 and you should be like new.......Should be about 24.00 in OZ money..
