Price Check L2501 in Ontario

Why thank you, Carl. Yes it is pretty here, NW Washington state. I ran a number of older tractors growing up and those oldies but goodies tractors bring us all memories for sure. The 2501 is a nice small tractor, just right for me these days and my needs of mowing fields and keeping up our very long driveway. My Wife says it occupies my time now but in reality I just love being on it; a dream to mow with and when taking the loader off, (about 3 minutes work) and so easy to maneuver around trees and such.

Looks like that one ticks off lots of the boxes. Maybe a soft cab for snow work to keep finances in order.

The unit you are looking at looks good maybe a tad high in $15K USD or $20K CDN would be about right - just a few points - No QA bucket and may not be available otherwise a good machine made by Iseki in Japan

Yeah, I'm not surprised it's a touch high, the dealers around here often go in high. It does have 2 rear remotes though, which is quite nice!

I did notice it doesn't have the SSQA hook up, too bad, definitely would be nice. That said, the cost of the heavier, larger HP tractor + (I assume loaded tires) + loader is $22.9k vs about $24.5k for the L2501 + loader. Really hard to tell until I see it, what the condition is like, but this dealer is a big name around here, imagine it's in pretty good shape. I messaged them and apparently this is a trade in for someone who wants to move up to a tractor that can handle 5x6 bales and do haying.

For the stuff I have planned, a skid steer attachment would be nice, but a skid steer 3pt hitch would work well too, and/or a boom pole for moving rocks. This would give me more power to do both too.

I might ask about converting it to a SSQA system but I feel this would be an expensive upgrade.

I took a look at the 1540. It really is a nice tractor, solid beefy thing. I'm going to go for it, assuming I can figure out insurance etc.

Assuming you are financing a portion on this machine, yes, the bank will want it insured. That's one benefit of getting a new machine with 0% financing and insurance all rolled into the final number.

Stuck trying to get a straight answer from Allstate with respect to whether they will cover it. Massey Ferguson Canada does themselves a disservice to not offer in house insurance. I'm ready to seal the deal on the Massey 1540, but will likely go with Kubota if I can't get a good answer from my homeowner insurance.

So I ended up getting the 1540. It's been fantastic so far, tackled some projects that would have been so many hours and strained back otherwise. I really had my heart set on the L3301 or L2501, but this worked out well.

Congrats Rob on your new tractor - looks like you put it to work already. Did you get any attachments yet? I would suggest a canopy and a 7' back blade (with hyd tilt if you can find it) for the snow etc.
