L2800 lift shudders

I talked to my dealer today and was told to bring it in and they would look at it. I hope they still have my old 2910. I am booked up until the end of June with lawn installs. I know this is a base L series tractor, but the three point hitch shouldn't shake so bad that the springs on the roller on my pulverizer bottom out and it's not even on the ground. If this is the case, me and most of my implements will be shook to peices within a few weeks. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

My L3400 HST does this also. I am a newbie and thought it was just me. Right now I have a 3 pt. chipper on the back that weighs about 450 lbs. I was using it yesterday and I went to raise it slightly to clear away chips and it shook the whole tractor. I will be talking to my dealer. I do realize that I bought the "standard" tractor and not the fancy model but it is a KUBOTA and should function properly. We have a Deere where I work that is slightly larger but the 3 pt. is very smooth. Thanks, and i hope this gets solved. Brian

Even thought I purchased a base model Kubota the L3400, I still expect standard things like the hydralic 3pt lift to work smooth like it should. My lift also shudders and shakes the tractor. How Kubota and the dealer handle this problem will determine if I will do business with Kubota again.

blkdak, I agree the 3pt atleast should be smooth, I can deal with the hydro tranny not coming to a stop smoothly, my B7500 was the same and I am used to that.
Kubotas 3pt should be smooth no matter the model #.
Hopefully they will figure this was an error on their part.

Apparently the 2800/3400 has a 1" increment valve like the one used on the 7800. If this is true, the jerkyness would be normal while raising the 3ph in small amounts. The heavier the implement, the more the tractor will rock.

I'm not to happy with my new L2800. I was tilling up a yard today with my Landpride tiller and my PTO all at once made a terrible grinding sound like gears stripping and that was all she wrote. The PTO shaft would not turn anymore, just grind . My dealer said they would have to tear it down and see what the problem is. He did say there is a new valve thats susposed to help the shudder on the three point hitch. He had to order it. The good news , they still had my old tractor and I will be able to use it until they get the L2800 lined out. Has anybody found out anything about their problems with the three point hitch?

Talked to my dealer today about my overrunning clutch and the 3pt. shudder. The overunning clutch is noisey and that is just the way it is going to be. We looked at Kubota service bulletins for a 3pt. problem and nothing was there. No updates of a valve or anything. Now I am confused. On another post a dealer talked ubout a valve change. I am also the first one to have complained about it at my dealer. They are a large dealer but have not sold many of the new L2800/3400 HST's. Sure hope something can be done. Brian

I got my L2800 back today. The problem with my PTO, I was told, was the engaging cable was out of adjustment and it wasn't letting the PTO engage all the way. It seems to be doing good for now. I haven't tried running my tiller with it yet, but will in the morning. In regards to the shudder of the three point hitch. The service manager said that there was no recall campaigns on this situation, but there must of been several complaints about this. He said there was a valve that was susposed to help it out. He had to order it. The new valve came in and they replaced the old valve somewhere in the system and it has made a world of difference. It is still pretty fast , but you now can feather your implement without the violent jerking that it was doing. I didn't get to talk face to face with the service manager to see exactly what valve was replaced, he had left for the day by the time I got there to pick it up. It helped out this tractor alot, it is alot smoother, and is how I expected the lift to work. The service manager did have to call his district rep to find out about the new valve. I'm very happy with the way they handled this problem. I'm going to hook up the tiller in the morning and see if the PTO works right.

Good to hear that somebody has had theirs smoothed out, my L2800 goes in next week for the shudder and hopefully I will be as pleased as you are.
