L2800 your thoughts.

My thought is, you'll be kicking yourself for the life of the ownership if you don't pick the one best suited towards your needs. Just don't fall for the bigger is better trap, unless bigger is better for you.

I'm sure you know the basics, weight, width, loader capacity, fuel economy.

The only other major factor I can think of is, consider a decision that allows you to get the most out of your existing implements.

My L2800 has been a great piece of equipment for the past two years. No complaints what so ever. Don't know what you have in mind to use it for but for a compact tractor which is reasonably priced I highly recommend it.

I had a 2800 traded it for a 4400 to get more hp..
Never had a problem with it,,,good tractor...

Wouldn't the L2800HST have the potentially jerky three point hitch?Versus the B2920HSD with the quarter-inching valve?Or another thing to consider-the L has been around awhile vs. the B is a new model.Just a few thoughts.

I would definitely go with the 2800 unless the additional weight and/or size is a concern.

Sounds fair. I recently gave 18,900.00 for a new L3400 HST w/ loader. Good Luck (probably could have done a little better had it not been for a trade in with purchase)

WOW Really?
~$19K?
I got my L3400 this time last year, with R1s, loaded rears, and the LA463 loader for $16K...

I have been happy with it, and the differences are minimal...

You will like it. Good Luck and enjoy!

Your decision must be made based on your needs. The two tractors share many things except size. One is small the other is larger. Power and capabilities are similar except the additional traction and stability from the weight advantage of the 2800. I've seen times where my 2800 is a bit too big when working it in a close area. I dug some post holes last summer for a person putting a fence around his yard. One hole I couldn't get to where I could have with a small B series. If you believe you will be working in narrow areas, your choice is clear. If you will be working it in open areas, I believe I'd prefer the 2800. I have had no problems at all with my 3 point using the implements I own and use and if given the choice tomorrow, would buy it again.

The L2800/L3400 are nice workhorse tractors for the money. If I were doing any reasonably amount of finish mowing around a lawn - I'd opt for the B series. They are nice and light and I prefer a mid mount mower for finish mowing.

For the money, think that getting the few extra HP with the L3400 is worthwhile. It will never stop though - you can get more for more money. I do think that you will get almost all the money back come resale time. In the used market, tractors often tend to be classified by HP and 'does it have a loader' - by the average buyer.

I see in your profile that you have a Kubota B7100HST w/FEL... are you upgrading? What are the main tasks you plan to do?
