Mowing L2800DT

I'm looking at purchasing a l2800dt mainly for bushhogging and i have a 5 foot bush hog already that i plan to use. if i get behind due to rain, weeds may be chest high. would this tractor perform ok with the 5 foot?

Yes. I have a L2800HST. The only thing I didn't like on the DT was the lack of a double clutch so when you push the cluth to change gears (forward/reverse) the PTO stops, this would only be a problem if you were backing into alot of stuf as I was diong clearing my land.

I have a 2800 HST and it has no problem at all with a 5' mower. It has never bogged down on me no matter what I've thrown it at. Well, other than that time I ran it into a rather large cypress stump and broke the shear bolt

No it just starts and stops the PTO. with HST there is no need to push the clutch to go from forward to revers, on the L3400 they use a double clutch that when pushed half way lets you shift gears without stopping power to the PTO push the clutch all the way and power is stopped to the PTO

My L2550DT has a two position clutch. PTO is disengaged when clutch is FULLY depressed and then engages PTO prior to when wheel drive clutch engages. I can depress clutch to stop while remaining in gear and continue to rotate PTO under power.

Is the L2800DT different?
