And the winner is bspeedy! Got home and hooked up battery up and the dash lights came on when I turned the key. Ran it through a couple cycles and all looked good. Knowing there is no such thing as an automagic fix I hooked up the connector for the headlights and they worked also. Turned the key a few more times and still had power in the cab. Then I went and wiggled the cables and went back and turned key and no power. Left key on and went back and wiggled cables again and when I did the hot I heard a click and power was back. So I have it narrowed down to that cable, just need to figure out if it is a connector problem or the cable itself. Thanks all for the help.

I'd replace the cable and the connector. 2003 - 14 years old. Limited time left on it. -Do them both!

Same thing happened on my L3130, the feed wire for the glow plugs and the dash have a spade connector on the side of the positive terminal, had to replace the terminal with another metal strap type one and used the old piece on the new terminal but had to make it so the bolt would clamp on better and bend the female terminal in better so it holds better.

Skriz-- I have bought several batts from Advance auto thru the years. Their batts lasts as long as their warranty is good for and no longer and I buy their best---GOLD. Now I go to deka and buy seconds. $45 for seconds compared to $165 for the Gold at advance.

Seems like you found the problem but in the future, with two people and a volt meter it is simple to find weaknesses in the system. Start with a volt meter across the POSTS of the battery Crank the engine and read voltage while cranking. Still 12 volts and no crank? Move on downstream. With the meter across the two terminals connectors (not the battery posts), check voltage again. See 12 volts there when cranking? Move on. Follow this approach till you see a significant drop in voltage and you can most likely find the weak connection.
