Darn good thing you were not seriously injured when it let go.

For most dealers it is a better profit on a hoe when they are aftermarket. I'd be after my dealer to get it fixed!!!! I never recommend after market attachments as in the owners manual they specifically say No after market attachments will be covered! This is not just with Kubota but all three brands of compacts we sell which actually cover 7 brands of compacts.

Sorry to hear about your breakage. Hopefully your dealer will take care of you and get it fixed and swap out for a subframe BH.

Thanks guys.
Filled out my profile a bit for you.

I have talked to the dealer and the tractor is being picked up Tomorrow.
So far the responce has been great from them.
The salesman my parents bought it from is arranging for a loaner for the week to finish the job we need done. After that he can have it back till I need one again.

I will ask about the heavy duty bracket and read up on the links you guys posted.
The service manager said he has not seen one fail like this according to my description, but he has seen the bolts pulled out of the bracket.
From what I read in that thread though the HD bracket appears to be for the smaller tractors. I also don't see anyway there could have been a "heavier" duty bracket on this particular mount.

Thanks for all the info and I will certainly let you guys know how it all works out next week.

There is a heavier top link bracket… Have your dealer look for “Reinforced 3 point Top Link Bracket” Kubota part # 70050-94877… It will take this plate and the associated bits and pieces.
Good Luck… also while they have the tractor taken all apart, click a few pictures, everyone likes to see those parts and shots you never normally get to see /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Please post a finished top link photo…KennyV

Hey guys just a quick update.
The tractor is still at the dealer.
Not much has been done as they were way behind in the shop and the Western state fair was the end of last month.
Going to check up on it on Tuesday.

Spent a fair amount of time talking to both the service manager and the sales rep.
Seems that Kubota shouldn't have any issue with fixing this under warranty.

The newest backhoe by Kubota is a sub frame (as you probably know) and is much better suited overall to our use.
The sales guy is going to work with us to get either the subframe attachment for our Great Bend or a swap for the Kubota unit.
We are really wanting to do the later and go with the quick hitch system and the better backhoe.

I will post again when it is all said and done and fill you in on the dealer that we are working with.

Jason, I had the exact same thing happen.
My dealer tried for a year to get a subframe out of BushHog, which they promised would only be a couple of months when I bought the tractor, but I guess not too many L2800's were wearing their backhoes! Then the rear tore out, same as yours.
I got my tractor repaired and returned within a week, complete with reenforcing bracket. The dealer took the blame for not installing the toplink bracket when I bought it.
I wish you luck!

I saw this same thing on a 3400 the day I picked up my 2800. I asked the dealer about it and he said that it would probably not be covered under warranty. I told him I was putting a hoe on mine and he showed no concerns of it breaking on me but here was one that did. My dealer is a real jerk anyways, he would not fix it under warranty anyways because he loses money on the repair!

Well the GREAT news is that the tractor is back home and fixed. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Dropped it off today. They even went back to the place where I had it break and picked up the back hoe for me. Then delivered the whole unit to my parents house about 15 miles away.

I promised I would not mention the dealer till things were resolved, but there was nothing to resolve.

TOTAL repair under warranty. Didn't cost my parents a dime not even for the pick up and delivery.

Jennings Equipment in Puyallup Washington has my business for sure. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Now we are going to have to discuss how to prevent this in the future with them.
This is a function of $$$. I don't expect them to just give us a new back hoe so we will have to sit down and figure out what kind of a deal they are willing to give us on the newer hoe or the stabilizer arms for the Great Bend.
The kit is available for this backhoe, but after seeing the Kubota one my dad and I are really more interested in going with the "right" one instead of fixing this one.

We are moving out to a 6 acre property here soon and I am going to be shopping for a one of the BX series tractors. Well not shopping just doing my homework as to what I need to buy. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
A guy has to have something to mow the lawn with, and you surely don't expect me to actually use a wheelbarrow in this day and age. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for all the great info guys.

I thought that might be the dealer. He is a long time businessman in town and I still stop by if I need a tractor type part. Glad to see him do the right thing and maybe I'll mention to him about this story I heard on the net.
