My friend has an L35 stuck in 9th gear. This is how he got there he was working in a muddy area and wanted to clean out his tires. He lifted the machine up by the bucket and outriggers so he could spin the tires. when he put the machine back down he couldn't get it out of high gear. Anyone have any ideas for a solution. PS: This is the same guy who laughed at me last year when I cleaned my mud/clay filled tires by pulling the my L3710 into a drive thru carwash and hosed them clean on the trailer at a total cost of $2.50. Washed down the trailer too!!

And he laughed at you...

This is just a wild guess, but could a hunk of splattered mud have gotten where it is blocking the shifter?

Have him lift it up again and try to do it all again, and take it out of gear when it is up.

Here's a long shot and mind you I know nothing of the L35; Once in a while my B7100DT will get stuck in forward or reverse gear because the end of the shift lever (internally) has jumped the detents or also known as forks or dogs.

I found an easier way to fix my problem rather than to remove the entire shift lever cover and that is to remove the boot on the gear shifter, cir-clip and spring, lift the shift lever out of the case. Inside you will see the detents, get a long screw driver and line up the detents, sort of use the screw diver like a shift lever and make sure the detents are aligned so the ball end of the shift lever fits between them. Re-install the shift lever.

Not sure if this is your buddies problem but maybe this will help.

Thanks for the sugestions. I guess what hapened is a broken cable that runs between the shifter and the main linkage. Ordered new part.
