Re: Front axle seals

Filled or weighted tires are putting strain on the front end? Would running with a full loader do the same thing? Should 4x be avoided?

PS Thanks for the tip.

Re: Front axle seals

Well, if you don't need 4x4 don't use it. That will save wear and tear on the whole front drive system. As far as the full loader or weighted front end (suitcase weights) Sure that's a factor but that's what the front end is designed for, but hanging 50-75 lbs directly off of the axle is a whole other story.

Re: Front axle seals

Is it possible for the front axles seals to stop leaking? I have been checking the seal situation out and it appears to have ceased. I know the first thing you will think is that the oil level is gone but I check that as well and it up to the hole. Is it possible that something could have jammed up in there because I cleaned the area good awhile back from dirt and such because I painted the area to make it look purty/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif? Shoot if you say no then maybe it's becuase the darn thing needs to get dirty again and not look so dang shiny. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Front axle seals

I like that---keep the area clean---. That is impossible for me to do I spend alot of time in the mud. Guess I could take a hose to her once in awhile for the heck of it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Front axle seals

Thanks kubmech for the response. Here are the symptoms. When I push in the hazard light (center with triangle on it), both turn signals flash. If I also at the same time push the turn signal indiator in either direction, that side starts to flash and the other side stays solid (lighted but doesn't flahs).

But if the harzard switch is not engaged, if I use the turnsignal switch in either direction, that direction flashes and the other side comes on and stays solid!

Re: Front axle seals

Boy when a persons wrong we should admit it right?/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Anyway what I wanted to let you know, if you didn't already, that upon further looking into my front axles seal leaks I removed all the plugs (fill and check) and noticed none coming from the check one. Hmmmm there was a drop on the fill plug threads and thats all that I must have seen when checking it awhile back. Well I added oil to the front axle and hopefully nothing to bad happen. I haven't ran it in 4wd or actually in any drive to much lately so that is probably good. Anyway I have no self healing seals /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif But most of you probably new that anyway. ha,ha.

Here is a question- when I was using the unit yesterday I was running the loader and noticed that when I placed the bucket edge on the pile the rods would compress back into the cylinder. HUH? When I moved the bucket in the opposite direction it would come back out and stay out. Also another strange thing happens too when using the backhoe there is a stall in teh hydraulics for a second and then it will work fine again. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks

Re: Front axle seals

Thanks kubota-monkey that probably would be a heck of a job for the brake lights to be going on and off all the time/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I know what you mean about not having enought time to read through all of them. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
