Price Check L3710 HST Price and Help

Looking at 1y.o. Kubota L3710, HST, 150 hours, with loader(not sure the number), power steer, cruise, 4wd. Looks perfect, no scratchs, PTO not used. Man wants $16,500 in central AL. Good price or not? Also, what hp is it. He says 39hp, but I could not verify. Please help. First tractor for 17 acres with horses and cows, no baling hay, just bushoging and general farm work.

If it's in the shape you describe that's not a bad price as long it has a kubota loader on it. As far as the 39hp that's probably correct which is the engines gross hp rating the actual pto hp is 30hp on the 4wd HST model.

Thx for the feedback. It definitely is a Kubota loader, just can't remember the number.

Nest question, is that size too small to handle round bales and do the other basic stuff I will need to do around here? My father in law says I need a 60 hp minimum. I have no plans to bale hay. What is the word?

Are you thinking of putting a spear on the loader or just use a 3ph spear? I have a L3130 w/LA723 loader and it will pick-up a 900lb. round bale w/3ph hay spear with no problem, later on I plan to buy quick-attach spear for front end loader. I don't see any problems with the 3710 being able to handle round bales using either the loader or the 3ph. By the way does the loader have the quick-attach bucket? like a skid-steer? that's a bonus feature!

My thought was to put a spear on the loader and not use the 3ph. I won't be moving that much hay. As for quick disonnect, it comes loose by undoing 4 bolts, 2 on each side, and them popping the pins. did not look too hard, but was more that i want. will make a spear to go on the bucket and never take it off. just a little worried that for the money I am only getting 30hp PTO when I could get a little bigger. But I REALLY like the HST and my wife loves that feature too.

If your not planning on baling your own hay then that 3710 will have plenty of power. By quick-disconnect on the loader bucket I meant does it have two release arms that are pulled and the bucket just slips off the loader like skid steer loaders have to change to different attachments, forks, spear or a trencher etc. etc. I personally don't like the spears and forks that attach to the loader bucket, just my own preference I know they work but don't care for them. It seems to me they would put too much stress on the bucket and could damage it.

3710 would be a good match for your 17 acres. I have same tractor, just more HP for my place and it's the cat's meow. You can get a 3pt bale spear for not much $$... that would be my recommendation. You will find more uses for that loader than you can ever imagine, so you won't want to have the hay spike on it all the time.

You would need to put some weight in back anyhow if you were using something attached to the loader... that round bale would be sticking out pretty far in front and the back end would get real light.

There was an ad in yesterday's Raleigh News and Observer for a 2000 L4130 with FEL and bush hog for $12,500. It has 27 hours (yes 27 hours) and has been garage kept. I called and it was sold (of course). The guy said it is rated at 36.6 hp.

I was quoted 16850 on the L3830 not to long ago

Add in the 3800 for the loader...so I'd say this sounds pretty good for you...but new is a little bit closer than u might think
