1999 Kubota L3710 GST
Hello list,

I'm starting to look around for new tires for my Kubota L3710.
I had a few questions that I would like to throw out here on the list and get some feed back on.
I currently have Firestone turf tires on the tractor now, that's what was on the tractor when I bought it. I would like to go to R-4s. I've looked in my operator's manual and have a pretty good idea of what sizes I need for the front and back. What I'd like to ask the list is,
1. What does Kubota L series tractors come with "stock" for R-4 tires, manufacturer, brand, size?
2. Anyone out there have any preference to a manufacturer? Right now I'm thinking Firestone, Titan, and Goodyear.
3. How many ply should I get? I do a lot of loader work and forestry work, brush and log removal out of the woods.

The tires I have now are beat and worn. The fronts keep popping of the rims when doing loader work and the rears are starting to crack around the rim.
Any suggestions or help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I can't offer much help but can get the thread started anyway.

You might consider getting whatever front tires you end up with foam filled. I did that a couple years ago with my B2910 and have been very happy with them.

On the back, more plys in my mind makes a tougher tire. Since you probably don't want a puncture in the woods, you may want to go with more plys. Doing so would, I think, equate to having tougher sidewalls. I was kind of shocked to see that my B2910 R4s were only 4 ply...still, never punctured one, although I did flat on the front the second day I had the tractor.

Well...at least this is a start... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jim, yur dealer should be able to give you the sizes and makes that Kubota used as well the proper rim sizes.

Rear tires- 17.5L 24 Firestone 6 Ply

Front tires- 10-16.5 Titan 6 Ply

Not sure if you're rims will work-I vaguely remember dealer saying needed rims and tires to go to R4's

These tires are vastly bigger than the stock AG tire setup-same as L48-they greatly improve performance of tractor-well worth it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks Art,
That was my next step this week. I thought I'd get some input from you guys first. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif TBN is the best source of real life information from people that have been there and done that, if you know what I mean. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That's what I'm hoping for.
I do plan on getting new rims and filling the rear tires with Calcium.
Thanks for the tire sizes and input.

I had looked into filling my tires with foam a few years ago when I first got the tractor and found it was pretty expensive$$
Thanks for getting things going though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Give RimGuard serious consideration. Non toxic and does not corrode rims.

Jim where I live (No. Calif.) I was told to put just water in tires. Dealer said rims were made to hold water-and were lifetime warranty against rust thru- although never seen that in writing /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks,

Jim
