Kinda reminds me of "So other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"

Want to come over and play with my little loaner toy. Just don't bring your tractor because you could lift up my little toy with your 4 in 1 bucket. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
I will say this that hst is nice but I have been cussing those r-4 tires useless in just alittle mud but they have a nice wide footprint.

Gordon - The R4's don't have nearly as much traction when they're not ballasted, partially because of the wider footprint. With their extra volume over R1's, they do fairly well when ballasted to the same percentage. I'll bet the tires on your loaner aren't ballasted, and are over-inflated. Even so, the tread isn't nearly as aggressive as the R1 tread, which is why I like the Michelin XM27's so much - R4 profile, R1 tread, radial design - if there's a better tire for our purposes, I'd sure like to know what it is.

I'm glad you got a chance to try the HST for yourself. Sure beats taking my word for it. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Gordon,

I'm responding better late than never! I KNOW that the TC18 will be in better shape and need less repair than your L3750 because there is no way that I will use it at the level you use yours. And thinking about it, yours has 8000 hours at 10 years old, mine will be about 80 years old when it has 8000 hours on it. By then, it'll probably be illegal to burn diesel fuel!

Thanks for the information, and the proof that Kubota's do break down and do need service just like other tractors made by the human race! Listening to some of you orange owners one would think that YOU think they are built by a master race of aliens!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Actually it's in the shop right now for propeller shaft leaks. I can't run it in the woods if its dropping oil down a drop of oil in water looks like a gallon. Yes like anything else they do break down from time to time but for what I've put this tractor thru I can't complain and thats why my next tractor will probably be a L series.
Right now I have a loaner from the dealer a B20 that I've put almost 40 hrs on in the past couple of weeks. I had planned on all day yesterday and all day today as well but its rained here and is muddy. I've been putting some good work out with that little hoe its surprizing a pretty tough little tractor only broke it twice. Broke off the backhoe t-handle mounts I replaced them had to drill them out and chase the threads. I blew the power steering seal they came out and replaced it. Fun of a loaner tractor I guess.

If all goes as planned my tractor will be in the driveway when I get home from work tomorrow. It's been at the dealer getting a leak fixed for 6 weeks. So I will be a very happy camper tomorrow I've got more work to do with it than alittle bit.

The loaner tractor the little B20 has held up well and I sure did like the backhoe but just doesn't have enough hp. I put 105 hrs on the loaner tractor and fell in love with that hst used to hate them.

The total bill to get my tractor fixed came to a grand total of $230.39 for parts they didn't charge me any labor because I had it in before for the same leak at the propeller shaft axle end and trans end.

So to me the dealer made a mistake and stood up for it thats all I can ask of someone. They were short handed in the shop and it was their busy season as well so my tractor took awhile to get done. But they stepped up to the plate by giving me a loaner tractor as soon as they picked up my tractor to be fixed.

All in all is cost me $230.39 to put over 100 hrs on the b20, thats cheaper than I could rent one for thats for sure!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Gordon - I'd say you robbed the poor man, but since it was his call, I guess I just have to call it a good deal!

So, you've changed your opinion of HST, huh? Mind if I ask what caused that?

Gordon-I drive the B21 which isn't much differnt than the B20 it replaced. They do feel a little low on power at times and for you it was a big drop in power from your 3750.
That said, they sure are working machines for a small package. Everytime I think I have pushed it to the limit it comes back and surprises me with what it will do. I will let it go someday if they put HST on the L35 or maybe hold on to it and get a 4610. How does this sound; 'Honey, with two tractors we could......'/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

MarkV please don't think for a minute I was downing the B20 for power I'm just used to a much larger tractor. You get used to doing things a certian way with a tractor then you use a smaller model and it strains to do the same job. That is no fault of the tractor I just try to do to much with it at times.

That B20 more than once surprized me on what it had the power to do, it's an awsome machine for it's size. Just wish it had an extend-a-hoe and it would be the perfect machine. I amazed myself at where I could fit it more than once.

I tried to buy the loaner but the dealer and I couldn't come together on a price---He thinks its gold plated and I have yet to find the gold on it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
