Hello All,
I have just recently aquired a L3830 HST 4X4 (after selling my L5030 last year) that required the 50 service due to only having 58 hours on it. I drained the hydro and frontend and refilled them with the proper capacity amounts listed in the owners manual. Once filled with the proper amounts, both the hydro and frontend showed to be overfilled. Have any of you experience this with your tractors and, should I drain some out to the correct reading on the hydro dip stick. I have already drained the frontend until it quit running out of the fill sight level hole. The frontend is supposed to hold 6.9 qts but my best measuring show that about 2 qts drained out in order to get to the right level. Your imput is appreciated.

Thanks

The front end is very slow to seep down to all the places that the oil will end up. Check it again after 10 hours and top off if needed...

When I changed the fluids in my L3240 it didn't take as much as the manual indicated it would.I mentioned this to my dealer and he said this is quite common with Kubotas.I would go by the dipsticks as they should be correct.I would keep an eye on the front axle though as they do seem to take awhile for the fluid to completely settle.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. I was able to add maybe a cup of fluid to the frontend yesterday before it started coming out of the fill hole. I guess I will have to drain some of the hydrostat oil, it is about 3/4 inch above the fill mark on the dipstick.

Thanks again

When we did a 400 hour service on our BX2660 and L5030, we didn't even bother measuring except for the engine oil as they never hold what the manual says they should. We just pour from 5 gal pails and keep checking.

I wonder if there is any problem with the extra hydraulic fluid? Doesn't reservoir tanks have extra room? More of a problem if it's too low...
