How much is a zip-tie in were you live?

( Mike,

How do you intend to do that.....I guess you'd put the shuttle in forward, keep it in neutral at the gear selector, then just pop it into first to creep when necessary? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif )

Sounds good to me. I usually just lift my FEL and push myself along with my BH. Is that hard on it? I had an old timer show me how to do it. Saves time raising the stabilizer arms etc.

Nuke,

That'll work too, but I like the idea Mike was talking about, especially if you have a lot of trenching to do. I've got thousands of feet to trench in the next year.

I'm kinda envious!

After reading this post, I just fiqured out why my L-39 was stalling as I carefully backed it into my garage.
When I park the tractor, I have to go through a two step process.
The B/H boom is 2" higher than my door height, so I must first lower the boom, back in, re-raise and lock the boom up in travel position, and then swing the B/H to the left side, and finish parking.
As I am slowly backing the last two feet, I must have been taking my weight off the seat while looking backward, to activate the switch, and stall the motor. I guess my fat a** isn't so fat after all.
As the L-39 has only stalled when doing this manuver; Mystery Solved!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
At this time, I'll not modify the switch.

There are two switches.....I'll keep the seat kill switch, but I'm going to modify the one that shuts the machine down when the seat is turned to BH and it's in gear. As previously stated, that way the L-39 will creep like a 110. Keep the shuttle in forward and the shift lever in neutral, then bump it into 1st to creep. You can lower the throttle for even slower creep. That is a feature that I really wanted on the L-39.

I'm going to try it in a few minutes and will report back /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'll look carefully at how exposed things are and check for gross safety issues with this technique. The shift lever is behind you and on the left where you don't walk or move to the BH.

Our L39 BH boom is at least a foot higher than the barn door, so one thing I DO NOT want to forget is to lower than boom! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I've done it.... Ripped the top framing right off my garage doors the third day I owned it. There is no longer any framing or a garage door for that matter /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I was just so excited to go out and play, I lost my wits. Oh well, I'm doing some foundation and structural work on it anyway.

Here are some Photo Posts of what I did to bypass the Seat kill Switch. I can Defeat the switch or not. My default choice is to not defeat the switch.

This little toggle catch takes care of the BH defeat switch on the seat. I use first gear and move real sow, ( most of the time remembering ) that the stabilizers and bucket are down!
