Tractor
Kubota MX5000 & L3800
I am at it again, shopping for a new Kubota. I want to share some price quotes for anyone who may want some references. I am looking in Kentucky from Louisville to the Bowling Green Area, so these prices are from dealers between the two.

The winner (so far) is $18,750 for:
L4400 4WD
703 FEL with 72" bucket
Fluid filled rear tires
a pair or hydraulic remotes in the back
the all important sun canopy.

The range has been from that to $20,500 (without the hydraulic remotes or sun shade). The average of 5 quotes is $19,750 (but only one dealer included the remote and sun canopy).

I'll let you know how (if) it works out and certainly give credit to the dealer who is the most consumer-friendly.

Jeremy,
Hi, I live around the Bowling Green Area. I am still waiting on my new tractor, I found a place with great prices in Tennessee. They have quoted me a price that is $1,810.00 less than the local Kubota dealer. So when I saw your range of prices that you had for the L4400, I automatically guessed the $20,500.00 as being from this dealer here in Bowling Green (they are pretty high). However, I think the Kubota Dealer in Glasgow turned out to be the highest (I could not get him down to his bottom dollar).

Anyway, that $18,750 price seems to be great, especially with the remotes and the canopy. Will it have R-4's and Quick attach? If you don't mind me asking, where did you find that dealer?

Also, If you would like my Tennessee contact, let me know? Apparently, the dealer is waiting on a valve that is on back order for the LA723 loader for my tractor. I'm still looking around, I like tractors.

The Bowling Green dealer with the nice price is Hobdy, Dye & Read (Tell Brent that I sent you 270- 796-4105). The dealer that had the best price by far in '02 when I bought my MX5000 was H&R Agripower in Russellville, and this time they quoted me the highest price for the L4400. Go figure.

All the Kubota salesmen I have met and talked to in KY have been personable, responsive and knowledgeable. (Glad I am not shopping for a car.) The big differences in prices and extras are perplexing.

What is attractive about the L4400 is that it is so very much like my MX5000. It is essentially the same size, and only slightly less powerful. The MX5000's 50 HP is more than plenty for me so I know that the L4400 will not be lacking.

It is also an essential tractor; no whistles or bells. (I can get used to the cup holder.) I know that this is a forum for lovers of compact tractors, but I kind of like the somewhat bigger ones. And, yes, it is more affordable.

Now please don't go to the dealer I want to buy from and buy out from under me the one that I want. But, let us know what you do do.
