Lookin into a new machine for the spring but im not sure which to get, price isn't as much of a concern. the main things im going to be doing is a little work around my house with moving dirt and building retaining walls, move excess amounts of dirt and brush with the monthly dredging of our creeks/streams up my family 16 acre farm, occasional work on the side, and finally using it to help out with dropping trees/digging the stumps up. so here are my questions.

1. who has which machine and what do you like/dislike about it
2. what's the random clutch for on the l45?
3. is there an aftermarket 3rd valve for the Deere so I can get a 4in1 front?
4. are hydraulic thumbs hard to come by or make for the deere?
5. what's the main difference between the l45 and 47? and vice versa on the Deere to the other 2
6. what's the specs of each with the lift of the loader and the breakout force of the backhoe

My questions for your questions:

1. Do you have the proper equipment to tow these machines? At around 8000 dry weight you will want to consider carefully.
2. I dont think these have the reach or the maneuverability for creek dredging, unless it is a very small creek without much slope. Remember you only have 180 degree boom swing with a TLB. Is that enough to relocate the material?
3. You didn’t mention if you like wrenching much with your machines. A 110TLB is a wrenching project. They aren’t made anymore, but are fairly well thought of by those that like to service and repair their own machines. If this isnt you, then you might want to focus elsewhere.
4. I do not recommend this size TLB for digging a bunch of stumps. I dont use mine much for it. Stumps are one of the best ways to wear a backhoe out. Backhoes are meant for digging dirt....not trees. Personally, I would rent an excavator and wear someone else’s machine out. It will be great for moving dirt, building the walls, trenching, etc.

Now for your questions:
1. I have the L47s bigger brother. Great machine. About the only difference I can think of between the L45 and L47 is tier 4 final emissions equipment on the L47.
2. Not sure what you mean by random clutch. THe L45 has the HST plus transmission like the L47.
3. See my #3 above...I am sure you will find a solution, but it may take some research and wrenching work!
4. They are made, but the machine was discontinued in 2012. Check threads on this forum such as this
5. See #1. Tier 4 emissions is the only thing I can think of that is of significance. Maybe others will know.
6. You can do your own homework here

I’d buy the Kubota machine simply because it’s still made. I looked at these machines and their bigger brother the M59 and decided for the same money I could have a 310 that’s twice or more the machine so that’s what I bought. IMG_0311.JPG

AS you suggest, the BIG difference with the JD 110 TLB is that it is NOT Tier 4!
I don't know about the hoe reach on the others, but it is 10' on the JD, and has really good breakout force.

I have an older, but pristine (completely restored) Ford 3400 TLB.
I love my Ford (have had it for 33 years), but I would like to update to something newer with 4WD.
I have considered the RK, TYM, Kubota, etc. but I keep coming back to the JD110.

If I were the OP I would put my money on a very low hour JD110TLB.
It should be less money than the others also, although the OP seemed to be not concerned about the cost.

I know where there is a by owner 240 hour JD110 TLB, complete with a bunch of 3pt. attachments, some apparently not ever used, but I don't want the implements, and the seller will not split.

L47 with loader & hoe+= $54.xxx plus

If it were me I would look for a nice used pre T4 emissions machine. All of the options you laid out are nice units..don't really see much difference in capability between the 3. As someone already said.. it is fairly easy to find a bigger Cat or Deere machine used with a few thousand hours on it in the 20-25k range. ..those are enormously more capable tractors, but could come with transportation challenges if you don't have the equipment to do it. ..

I wish I had the room for a bigger machine! the old man use to own a 580K years ago and in all honesty its entirely way to large for our property for when we need to go in the woods or between trees. and I was only saying l47 just because I had a quote for hydraulic thumb, 2 rear buckets, rubber street pads, 4 in 1 front, grapple and forks for 51800 without taxes. I can see majority of the Deeres dont have aux fronts from what I can see and I couldn't find an aftermarket kit for one since Deere doesn't make one anymore. what's the big issue with tier 4 anyway? its just a dpf that needs cleaned and replaced around 2000 hours from what the dealer said.

working on the machines isn't that big if an issue we own a jd450 straight dozer that im working on something big every other year.
the random clutch thing is on the left foot of the l45 is a clutch peddle and the l47 doesn't have this on them.
The creek issue isn't that bad either since I've been using the dozer last couple of times to clean it and some days my Buddys Kubota 2601 to clean it out with a lot of moving! haha

If you’re buying new that makes this an easy choice. If you’re buying used I’d probably buy the L45 because they’re cheaper and don’t have the emissions stuff. They also made a L39.

For the kind of work you mentioned, I’d look into buying a used excavator 5ton range and a used track loader. You could probably get some fairly reliable ones for the price of a brand new L47. And an ex will work circles around a TLB except for front loader work requiring traveling.
