Picked up my L48 yesterday, traded the L3600 GST. WOW what a difference in power. Like the hydro too. Anyone else have one with some hours on it yet?

Foz,

Keep us posted as you get some hours in the seat, please. I just drool looking at the L48. One of these days my little B21 is going to be retired for a L48.

Opps, got to go, the wife almost saw my post./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Well from what I've heard, a few prototype L48 machines were in the field before the L48 was launched... but how many hours were put on them? Only the operators and Kubota know. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif I think they were used in commercial applications, so a fair number of hours in a short period of time is possible... I'm sure if any problems came up, they worked out the bugs. The L48 looks to me like one of the most solid new models... time will tell if there are any issues to resolve, but Kubota has been good about putting products ready for market out in the field... perhaps better than some other lines, to a certain extent.

Enjoy your new tractor!

I'm looking at the L48 vs the L4610. The L48 has a higher capacity loader which is a big bonus. I'm not interested in the hoe and have found the TL48, no hoe (TLB 48) to be about $4000.00 higher then the L4610 HST. Weighing the options and advantages to both. Size wise they are close, same HP but different engines. TL48 advantages I saw were: loader capacity, pump gpm, 3pt. lift capacity, and a few various others. L4610 has a removable loader, tighter turn radius (I think) brakes on or off on L48's figure? Tell me what your thoughts are Foz, my Kubota dealer has 6 of them in his yard, all with hoes. Rat...

Rat;

Hoe: Big reason for the trade, needed the extra depth & capacity of large hoe for work, but also wanted to retain use of a 3PT for my own property

loader capacity: had some time with that this week, about twice the capacity of my L3600 & i'm using every bit of it

tighter turn radius (I think) brakes on or off on L48's figure? brakes are useless with the HST on the same side as the brake, the only down side so far, but i think it turns pretty tight, however I didn't use the brages much on my GST anyway

so far only 7 Hrs on the meter, all by me, used so far to dig a 36" deep drainage trench in semi-frozen ground (WOW) & to fill mu dump truck with gravel & loading mulch, so far i'm extremely happy

sorry for the long post guys

Thanks FOZ, hope to quiz you more as you get more time on it. Hope you don't mind if I ask. Hard to find folks on here with this tractor or even the L 4610. If I needed a BX though I'd be up to my waist in info. Rat...
