I just purchased a 2003 L5030 with BH90 backhoe. I disconnected the backhoe and connected the male and female hydraulic lines together (the ones that went to the backhoe). I'm now trying to figure out why the 3 point cylinders don't respond when raising/lowering the control lever. I have adjusted the speed control (to ensure it isn't in the locked/closed position) and have no response.

Anyone have any ideas?

Michael

Their is three (3) levers that control the 3PH. Position Control Lever ~ PCL, Draft Control Lever ~ DCL & 3 Point speed Knob ~ 3PHSCK.

PCL is on the right side of the seat and it's the inside lever. All the way back is UP, going forward is DOWN but all the way forward is FLOAT.

DCL is also on the right side of the seat and it's the outside lever. All the way back is SENSITIVE, Forward is INSENSITIVE, and all the way forward is FLOAT.

3PHSCK is located in front of the drivers seat just below the knob the adjust the seat spring. When facing the knob, to the left is FAST, as you turn it right it goes to SLOW, and all the way to the right is LOCK.

It could be that the PCL or DCL, or BOTH are in the FLOAT position. You could also have the 3PHSCK in the lock position.

Try these fixes. This is for a 2005 L5030 so your could be different.

Good luck..

Draft is optional and not too many have it. Wanna post a pic of where your top link connects?

My tractor does not have draft control, but I thought because he was having trouble he might have a unit with draft control........

But your right I should have made it clear that not all unit have draft....

You're correct, I don't have a draft control. In the attached picture I've marked what I think is the very top of the Positon control lever with the letter "B" (in Blue) - I didn't capture all of the PCL. I'm not sure what the control lever is for the one I've marked as "A" (In Red). In any case I've moved the lever ("B") without any effect. When I move the lever ("A") the hydraulic hoses will move, but that's all I see that moves.

I'll check the 3PHSCK, but I tried numerous positions. I rotated the knob fully counter clockwise (when looking straight at the knob), which, according to the picture on the knob (and your response) would be wide open. I also tried the PCL by moving it in both the up and down directions. The only position I hadn't tried for the 3PHSCK was fully clockwise (since the indication was "locked").

The 3 point system works fine - after reading your response, and having confidence I was operating the correct levers and knobs I looked at other things. The arms were in the fully extended position (all the way up), without any implement weight. I had thought the down direction was "driven", and hadn't known it depended on the implement weight to evacuate the cylinders. I stood on the arms and lowered them, and they responded fine to raising via the PCL.

Thankyou for confirming the operation - It allowed me to stop looking for another valve, or different lever to set to "enable" the PCL.

Great, glad to see you are ready to go to work and there is no problem with your tractor.

Good luck,,,,

Sometimes it is the easiest things that stump us. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I have pushed my 3pt down before but did not even think to tell you that.
