Does your tractor have draft control? If so check your draft control lever, and if it is ok check the draft control linkage. I had an issue with my previous tractor where I broke a control rod on the draft control and the three point would not drop. I somewhat don’t think that’s it as you said you could put weight on it and get it to drop some, but might be worth checking.

Draft control is all good. Once I took apart the valve block and studied the valves it pretty basic how draft control works (hydraulically) but yes, all connected. Thx
