I recently took the backhoe off my 60-hours-old L5030. Before doing so, I did my 50-hour maintenance, including changing the hydraulic fluid, with the backhoe on the tractor. Following the maintenance I removed the backhoe and put my rotary cutter on. For some reason the 3-point hitch won't lift correctly. It is sluggish, it wants to stay down. I had a L3830 last month and the hitch just snapped up, a smooth operation. Now, with the larger tractor, the hitch won't budge from the down position unless I rev the engine to around 2500 RPM and then I have to move the loader bucket up and down a few times. What is this problem? I have improved the situation a little by adjusting the "close/open" button below the front of the seat. But I am not yet satisfied with the performance. Yes, I do have enough Kubota UDT hydraulic/transmission fluid in the machine, and the filters were replaced correctly. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

KLS59, I have a 5030 and backhoe and did the exact same thing you did - removed the backhoe after the 50 hour service and put on the rotary mower. I had no trouble with the 3 point hitch raising. Make sure the knob below the seat is turned toward you right foot. The only thing I can think of is air in the hydraulic system which should work it's way out shortly, otherwise use your warranty and let me know what you find out. Is this the same mower you had on the 3830 or a heavier one?

I used a new L4330HST this past winter for snow removal. I had to remove the back hoe and install the snow blower. Well the 3 point hitch would not go up. It would drop but not go up. So after some searching and tracing hydraulic lines there was 2 hoses switched on the hydraulic valve block under the hydro pedal. If I remember there are a total of 3 hoses and 2 were switched. I don't have the tractor anymore, I just used it to get me out of a jamb.

Hope this helps.

After you disconnected your BH, did you loop the hydraulic lines together that feed the BH? I know that may be obvious, but I usually miss the simple things and thought I would ask.
